Can't insert custom graphics in my hack

I know how to insert the graphics, but there is one problem, when I try to put another ExGFX in its folder and use the Super GFX Bypass, it's like it hasn't been inserted. I did everything, extracting and inserting GFX and ExGFX after putting the custom graphics in the ExGFX, but it doesn't appear in the Super GFX Bypass. I don't know what's happening.
If you ask what I'm trying to use, I want to use Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island - Cave by Kaeru (FG which uses ExGfxA9bin to change it in the FG3) Thanks for the help!
Make sure the filename of your ExGFX file is correct (as in, it should be namend 'ExGFX###.bin', not sure whether case sensitive is required but to be sure do it that way). Else, after re-inserting ExGFX, you might need to switch levels before it appears on the list in LM.

Other than that, there doesn't seem to be a step missing.
This tutorial by WhiteYoshiEgg is thorough and informative and might be worth reading over if you're having troubles inserting ExGFX.

I've tried and it still doesn't work. Something is happening but I don't know what to do.
Could you provide screenshots of your hack folder and your ExGFX folder? Are the rest of your ExGFX files imported correctly?

Inside the folder, bin has FG3 next to ExGFXA9, don't know if I have to erase that part of the name.

Now, should I copy into the ExGFX folder (when copying you make another bin) or move it?
Move it into the ExGFX folder once you've named the slot you want it to be. if A9 is the one you want you're all set.

At that point, just go into Lunar Magic, hit these two (#lm{insgfx}#lm{insexgfx}), click #lm{sgfxby} and set the FG3 dropdown to A9 or whatever you choose.

The [FG3] is in the name of the file when you download it only to tell you which dropdown you need to set.

I've done and it still doesn't work. Don't know if I missed something or there is a bug.


Have you put the ExGFX files into the folder "ExGFX"? And if yes, have you actually inserted the graphics with #lm{insexgfx}.
One more note: In your screenshot the sample level has no extension but an icon, this would usually mean that your OS is set up to not show file extensions if the file type is known. If it still doesn't work after doing what MFG said, you could try one last thing and make sure the file isn't called "ExGFXA9.bin.bin" (meaning rename and remove the .bin, if for whatever reason .bin is considered a known file type).
MFG: Yeah, it is in that folder, and clicked the yellow mushroom, but it didn't work.
Ramon: The icon is a baby Yoshi because it can be opened with LM. About the bin, I'll check that.
Have you made sure you put it into the proper ExGFX folder? It's possible that you have multiple ROMs edited with multiple Graphics and ExGraphics folders in different locations on your computer and you put the .bin ExGFX files in the wrong ExGraphics folder linked to a ROM you're not currently editing.

Yeah. Adamatrix, you are correct, I had too many roms mixed and all that stuff. I have to start the hack again. But thanks to everyone for the help!
I will make an update in the WIP Thread later this week or month.

When I first started hacking I used to do that all of the time. Hell I did it just recently while making graphical changes in YY-CHR.
