PatchManager v1.0

Been a while since C3

So yeah, I fixed a couple of bugs, added some features and it should hopefully be stable now.

This tool intends to manage your patches detect conflicts in them and help porting if required.

Here are the C3 images again:

This looks interesting.

I want to use it because I have some issues in my hacks, where some musics (but also a couple of other stuff) can randomly glitch.

But I'm not too sure how to use it best.
In my mind, I would put my patches, and it would tell me "Ok you have this patch and this patch conflicting on that adress, and this, and that".
But I realise it's not quite like this, it gives the errors patch by patch.

What the best way?
Select first the most important patches and then add the others (although most are important)?
Select the big ones (retry system for example) and then add the smallest?
Do every single combination of 1+1 and wheck like that?

This tool cannot tell you if there are conflicts with already applied patches. You will have to add every patch using the tool so it can keep track of where the patches edited your ROM and which are conflicting.

If the patches are all ones that can be reapplied at any time then adding the bigger ones first then the smaller ones would probably be the best way to go about it. You still have to apply every patch.

Patches not applied using the tool cannot be taken into account.

Note: If you don't save the ROM inside the tool then no changes will be applied to the ROM either, so it is safe to check if patches conflict by applying all to the internal copy of the rom inside the tool, which only replaces the original ROM if you save. Note that if you don't save, information on the applied patches will also be lost.
Oh yeah for sure, I need to apply the patches with the software, that was my plan. First test the patches on a clean ROM, then re-do it on my asm-free ROM.
So big first (like retry system) and then smaller ones (like infinite lives and stuff)
Ok, thanks

Oh snap, so this is basically EasyP on steroids. I have to transfer everything to a new ROM anyway so I'm pretty excited about having a way to manage things now.

Thanks!
Does this tool work with SA-1 ROMs?

I can't really say I've tested that but assuming you aren't later trying to remove the sa-1 patch itself with it then I don't see a reason for it not working.
Does this tool use Asar 1.71? If not, can the person in charge of this tool please update the tool so it uses Asar 1.71?

Sorry for the late reply, the original link should be updated with a new version that uses 1.71. You can also just replace asar-pm.dll with the new one, I only fixed a few spelling mistakes in the program itself.
Amazing tool! Many thanks for this! #smw{:TUP:}
Since Asar 1.81 came out, it would be nice if this tool was updated to use that version. Just a reminder.
