2018 so far...

...has been actually decent! (Well mostly)

I haven't followed world events too much so that's one thing.

From what it seems world wise, the only bad thing according to (forgot which station), is the whole deportation situation. Personally it is depressing from a viewer standpoint but I feel something good could hopefully somehow someway come out of it even though its currently in the mud.

As for personal life, I am blessed to have actual income coming through after a temporary struggle. It was harder than it sounds but conquering a piece of life and movubg on to square two is absolutely satisfying. Now to face daily issues #smrpg{:D}

SMWC-wise, there's still things to kink out (New Discord Mods, Spritetool Replacements, and event preparations being fewexamples) but this site has come a long way. Slowly but surely its getting somewhere.

So hows 2018 so far for y'all?
Nice! I still need to take steps myself. I'm just living day to day, so nothing much to report here.
Please pardon the eye.
Personal 2018 is boring for me. The only interesting thing is summer and the Orlando vacation I had a few days ago ended p shortly...being less than 2 days instead of 3, though I did went to Icon Orlando 360 if because I want to avoid going to Disney World for monetary reasons and that place being a tourist trap.

Political 2018 is interesting to see what people in power do and how others respond to issues being brought up to the surface, such as the bipartisan reaction to the zero tolerance policy the current adminstration does to illegal immigrant families... though I am tired of the polarization of discussions myself being the repetitive constant for the last several years, and its only going downhill from here.

SMWC 2018 is also alright as I am still trying to finish my hack.

On Pixel Art Requests: Depends on what it is and if I have the time for it. If its complex and I don't have the time, don't expect me to accept it.

Projects I support:

Been doing (metel) music stuff again. I actually feel somewhat alive which is something my life had been lacking as of late.

I still like the idea of SMW hacking, but I don't seem to make as much head-way with it as I do with IRL music stuff. It's just where I seem to flourish the most, I suppose.
My layout has removed you.
Unstable. I don't think I need to explain why. Would say i'm three steps ahead compared to 2017 though.
On my end, things have been great. Continued my world travels by visiting Guatemala and Spain. Met some cool and interesting people. Went back down to New Orleans to visit A Yoshi/Azurik/D'Vazure. Got a couple more trips lined up for this year: Scotland and Iceland. Been going to different events, meeting new peeps, having a good time.
As of SMW Central, nothing really interesting happened. I was not very active and had next to no time to work on some things regarding this site, Winter C3 for example. I think that it was a total failure for me, I couldn't show anything or comment on too much stuff people uploaded. I blame school for this, grrr! Now the things are fine, I got encouraged when I saw Summer's C3 and VLDC11/BLDC coming soon. I'm still working on my hack that I'll show a demo of on the next C3. I'll have time to request art from people and comment on others' works. I'll probably show my ExGFX tilesets, too!

Real life was kinda depressing to me. Tests, homeworks and preparations to exams were the reason why my life was stressful. Actually, I did well in exams, so I could make to a high school and class I wanted to go to, as my sister was signed there up. I had 2 other schools in consideration, too. The school year concluded a few days ago and it made me a lot happier! I'm going on vacations soon and don't expect too much activity from me right after C3 ends, though.

I can't tell that world events have generally excited me, either. In my country, everything's as usual. Unintelligent politics and leaking a whole lot of community-based problems. I could relieve when the new Internet law in European Union doesn't force censorship, paying for copyrighted material or linking, limit free voice or disallow making memes and fanbases' activity. It's that third parties will check whether materials on lesser sites don't contain licensed content and that press websites and apps, like Google Press will reward publishers with money. And there's only one thing that makes me upset, I can't believe that Poland lost their 2 first matches on 2018 FIFA World Cup, resulting in elimination from the championships. I dare say that out of all the teammates Lewandowski was the worst. He didn't score any goal at all!
I have a Discord server as well! (by joining, you agree to the rules)

Basically, I believe in peace and bashing two bricks together.

Well, I got MOTM, became staff member, got a few trophies, got decent rankings in contests, submitted a lot of cool stuff, somehow passed tests and graduated from school, started some cool projects (maybe too much of them #smrpg{ohno}) and played a lot of video games, new and old. So far this year is good for me.

I would like to think positively and rationally about this, and not bog down the entire year I had with just the experiences I remember. As I tend to say, we have so many experiences on one year, both good and bad, it's easy to remember more from either side and just say the year as a whole was bad. But I think it's not a very good thing for yourself, it makes things awfully negative and depressing, and could probably even affect your future events too, as you start seeing things badly before they even happen and will be way less motivated and just feel like you're gravitating towards sadness.

Just thinking not too deeply, I could easily say that 2018 is already easily one of the shittiest years I had in my life in a long time, and that it has been horrible so far.

But that's not true, it's just what can come to mind for me right now, but I know I had nice experiences here and there and it was nice in a lot of ways.
And if I think more positively, I can note many things that point towards the upcoming days being better than the first half.

It's way better than ending my year on a low note prematurely, just because of some things that upset me.
I have a lot of hope for the future right now, and despite feeling kinda wasted, I know I will get better and soon forget I was even feeling like this.

Focusing on the shit side of things won't help me in anything, quite the opposite, I need to overcome all the disappointments and positive thoughts always help to a certain extent.

we had ugandan knuckles so I'm glad the year is half over
An... interesting year so far, in my personal life, is what I can say. It all is still a bit confusing.
Also, I became absent from this site for the first time ever since I joined.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
irl this year started terribly. This is all I'm gonna say on the matter.

Site-wise, it was alright. I'm glad to have contributed whenever I could, though.

S.N.N. came back to defend his wrongdoings, so that's an interesting thing that happened this year.
S.N.N. might be the antichrist, but we aren't sure.
2018 hasn't been that bad for me personally. It's certainly been a weird year and all, but, I am hopeful once more.
Hasn't been a bad year at all for me which I've very thankful for! I started it off with some traveling and then got a new job shortly after that. I will say that this year is absolutely flying by in comparison to last year, though.
Personal 2018 - Pretty great, honestly. School year went very well and I'm looking forward to the upcoming one, I've been doing a lot ofnreading on physics and computer science (my main choices for a career path) and it's absolutely fascinating, and I've been re-uniting with an old friend I haven't spoken to in like five years.

Political 2018 - kind of a blur. Net neutrality going down, Logan Paul thing, blah blah blah - a lot of negative stuff comes to mind actually. Oh well.

SMWC 2018 - lol what happened here (I come back for not even a week and that whole offensive thread thing happens .. What the heck).

Personal 2018 - it's not too bad, it's not amazing either. I had a few rough years where I was thinking a lot about my life and the future, however fairly recently I've graduated from High School and now I have time to look a job or to spend another couple of years at an university or college.

Political 2018 - politics have been pretty bad in the past year, because the current government has been spewing a lot of misinformation to distract our citizens from the bad things they're doing. Thankfully there are people who don't let themselves get manipulated easily, so they work hard so nothing bad will happen for us in my country. Unfortunately, when a different party will have control over most stuff here, they'd need to clean up the mess from the worse past...

SMWC 2018 - well, I can't tell much because I haven't been there since a long time... :P
IRL: Had quite a shitty first half of the year, but so far the second half appears to be looking up, tho I've still found myself experiencing an alternation of elation and legit sadness. I've experienced such intense mood whiplash to make the average Disney film seem entirely stoic by comparison. Feels like I'm getting better at defeating social anxiety.

Political: Still haven't felt like de-friending any of my friends who happen to be Trump supporters.

Internet: Creative juices still come and go like the waves of the ocean, and this doesn't necessarily exclusively apply to hacking.
I still feel like I'm growing too fast on YouTube for my comfort zone, all because of a video that I didn't put as much effort into as other projects (and even the ones that I'm particularly proud of, I'd probably prefer to not get as much attention). Not trying to sound ungrateful or anything, but the major asset I used in that video was borrowed and I did make sure to give credit and tried make that abundantly clear (felt that was especially important given the view count), but there's the saying “you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.” I felt perfectly fine at 1K subs but why complain about what I can't directly control?

It's been a series of highs and lows that worked out eventually. On the positive side I'm about done with my thesis, we're in a new house, and my father got a grand opportunity to work with the state capital starting next week. The biggest downfalls really have been my stress levels balancing work, school, and also my grandfather who has dementia. We just put him in a nursing home four months ago because taking care of him was putting a damper on all of us.
