I've been here for ten years...

Ten years is coming soon for me. Time flies.

I know how that feels. It's been nearly a decade, and I still haven't finished my hack.

It's not that I don't want to. It's because I've been lazy.

STELLA!
Well, for me, it's been 5-6 years. I haven't been entirely active in all that time, but whatever... Time to let more time pass as I move on with life.
End of this message.
Yep, it's been 9 years for me, and I haven't finished a hack either. It's annoying.

Boy, though...I remember when it was unusual to have staff members with more then 3 digits in their user IDs; the ASM subforum was called "Advanced SMW Hacking" (and that was long before subforums existed, too); edit1754, Dispari Scuro, and Raibys (among others) were active, "Local Moderator" and "Global Moderator" existed as titles, I got forum banned for 4 months due to misinterpreting ASM request rules, Bonni's Quest was being worked on...I am way too old. You'd think I'd have made some more permanent friends here in that time, but sadly, that hasn't been the case.

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
I'll finish MushROMs one day...

Funny how growing up means doing actual things starts to take precedence.

    I got here yesterday so I'm to impress nobody lol
    I'm surprised how long this strong community has lasted though.
    I'm a YouTuber. I might consider returning to NSMBW hacking but I mainly quit due to drama and loss of motivation. But this might change soon. I also love FNAF
    I haven't been here in a while. Is there anything significant that I missed?
    don't click this link...

    Profile says 10 years 4 months but it's actually almost 12 years now.

    #smw{x_x}
    I'm sure everyone pre-wipe remembers BlueRedMario, with his legendarily bad grammar.

    Nightfall was fun. We should do that again some time.

    This is a thing that's happening, now. Achievements in old video games.
    Thank you for the layout, Erik557.
    Man, I wish this would've worked. Oh well.
    If not for respect, but dramatic effect, take on the face of Guy Fawkes.
    I arrived here a short time, I want very much to show what I learned with all my time in the SMWC.
    There seems to be a trend of long-registered users who haven't visited in a long time posting here, so. I guess I'm here too, with 9 years. And about 2-3 years since I last actively worked on a hack? Figures once I finally become halfway decent at it I just kind of stop, lmao.

    Who knows though, maybe I'll get back to it one of these days. How has everyone been?

    Edit: Oh yeah, BlueRedMario. He was the best music I know.
    My time went towards college.
    most of my time went into beating myself off to ladida and leod's avatars pressing F5 all day you know trying to get to the juicy bits
    I've been here 9-and-a-quarter years.

    Part of the time went to University, some of it went to looking for a job, and the rest of it went to working.
    such a busy schedule... how did you the find the time to also run an alt account #smrpg{gasp}

    i've been a lurker since 2008 before joining in 2009, but i took a few years hiatus from 2012-2016 (returning occasionally to pop in with friends whom i cherish) before completely returning in the summer of 2016, just in time to meet idol who was also returning that summer and form a bond that not even the cracks of time could dare to mend #smrpg{<3}

    my fav old memory of the site is joining the irc for the first time. i was slapped around with a large trout and so anxious about doing something wrong, i left and didnt come back for ~6 months to try again (when i thought people would've finally forgotten my humiliating defeat)

    runner up is 34 year old snn trying to track me down and meet 13 year old me
    ask me if i give a f*ck...

    The solution was actually pretty funky. I ate lots of green berries and had all the time I needed. I also had way more alt accounts than you know, so it must have been effective.
    Might as well continue the trend of coming out of inactivity to post here. Going on 8 years, although I haven't really been active in, like, 6. Cool to see so many names I recognize still around.

    Looking back I was a pretty big idiot on here. I guess I was a kid. (I'm almost 22 now so I would have been just in that "shitty teen" age during my time here.) I spent a lot of some real formative years on this site. I'm almost finished a computer engineering degree, and I consider this community at least partially responsible for my pursuit of that career path. I've never felt a joy quite like getting my own ASM to work properly, and I remember spending weeks poring over advanced tutorials on here, even though I couldn't quite get my head around them. I remember Counterfeit helping me install Linux for the first time and I still use the knowledge I gained from that experience every day. I don't quite have the time to put into stuff like this anymore, and my creative streak was never that strong. I never did make anything worth playing, but although I came to this site for the hacking, I stayed for the community.

    I never made any *real* friends on here, as evidenced by the fact that I don't talk to anyone I met anymore, and if anyone reading this remembers me at all, it likely won't be any more than "oh, I think I recognize that name". But just know that, if you were a member of this site around the same time I was, you probably had a profound effect on my life. I'd like to apologize for being an idiot back when I was a weird kid, but also thank you for letting that weird kid find himself.
    Getting close to 9 years for me, and although I'm not near as active anymore nor do I see myself finishing any more major projects I can say I have enjoyed my time here with the community, and I'll be sure to keep popping in when I can. #smrpg{<3}

    I'm probably retired tbh
    The amount of oldies returning to post here is kind of giving me a nostalgia trip. Granted, some are older than what I can remember when I became active, but nonetheless it's pretty amazing; I never thought I'd see some names again in non-dark colors.

    7 years, dayum. Feels like 3.
