Request Name: Simple End Level Sprite
Type: Sprite
Tool: PIXI
Description: Ends the level and triggers an exit. Extra bit determines if normal or secret exit. Allows custom setting of GFX usage, and allows different settings based on what is chosen for the extra bit, if desired.
Request Name: Left / Right and Up / Down Pipe Sprite Spawner
Type: Sprite (block?)
Tool: PIXI (or GPS if a block can get the job done)
Description: Looking for a way to spawn both vanilla and custom sprites out of pipes just like in SMB3 1-2 where goombas spawn from horizontal pipes. Hopefully it's possible to customize spawn values such as speed, sprite amounts, direction, etc.

A basic vanilla left / right sprite spawner like in 1-2 would be fine as well.

Could you link me? I've searched every page of Sprites, a majority of the block pages, searched for various keywords with no hits, and tried google, all with no luck. I've played hacks with this sprite before but I can't find a download so I decided to request it.

The pages don't make clear indication of it, but these can used with sprites other than bullet bills.

I'd like to have, on the main menu, "LUIGI" written instead of "MARIO". (the menu where there is "MARIO A ... EMPTY" etc...)
I'm making an all-Luigi hack :)

PS: if you know a way to have Luigi's colors instead of Mario's for the animation on top of the overworld (next to the life counter), I'm interested too. I thought I just had to change palettes, but I have yet to succeed

Except these are cannon shooters, not pipe spawners. Sure, you can modify these to make them work as pipe spawners but the bigger problem is that the sprites don't come out of the sprites, they'd appear inside the level instead.
Take a look at the Mario Bros sprites: In order to make it possible for them to come out of pipes, they have got an addition behaviour doing this.

Isn't that what Lunar Magic was designed to do in the first place?


He's suggesting a patch that points every level to the TEST level used as a placeholder as well as removing all overworld data.

Hello, could someone make a patch in the middle of this and this? A patch that extends level names and removes the lives counter in the overworld, but doesn't remove the player sprite. Basically allowing for 4 more characters than the original patch, or 5 less than the super extended patch. Thanks in advance, and my needs aside I think in general this isn't a bad patch idea to be made!!

EDIT: I don't want this patch anymore, but I'll leave the concept in the air if anybody's bored.

You can use this tool to edit text on the title screen.

Being on Windows 10 I can't open the tool. Thomas tried and concluded I couldn't use it on Windows 10 and advised me to do it in ASM instead

Tossin in a request. I've had one plan to make SMW control like a generic endless runner.

The details of the patch: The camera automatically pans so that Mario stays on the left of the screen, as if R was held.
Right D-pad and X or Y would act as if it was constantly being held, and the speed of Mario's jump (How long it takes for him to finish one full jump) would be determined by how fast he's moving.


If possible, or if block ASM is also accepted, could I also have a block that changes Mario's max running speed?
Sometimes, I like to hack SMW. This is rare though, but I always try something new.

Just wondering, but would it be possible to make a sprite like a boss or something that attaches onto you like the Metroid sprite except it take away your time instead of your coins?

It's been a month, thought I'd repeat this request.

I would like to make it so that, when Mario performs a regular jump and lands on an enemy which can be hurt by this action, there is a chance Mario will instead bounce harmlessly off with neither taking damage. The odds of the attack succeeding will be dependent on the number of lives Mario has. The formula I would like to use is as follows:

  1   |   20%
  2   |   40%
  3   |   60%
  4   |   80%
  5+  |  100%


Perhaps these values can be edited, but this is the formula my game needs. This is another way which makes lives more strategically important for the player and makes 1UPs a reward that is more useful for the player.

It's been about a month since my last request for sprite pipe spawners like SMB3 1-2 level, but I understand that type of sprite may be more time consuming to code than my following request.

I'd like to request a patch that will prevent throw-able blocks, shells, goombas, etc from being destroyed while holding them and spin jumping on other enemies.
