Another new administrator!

After reading this and discussing with other people I feel better. I was very prejudiced against all this, because of opinions flying around, but I now feel much more neutral about this now that I know you've been doing stuff. I still find all the process really hasty, among with other stuff, and in that case I only hope you'll prove us wrong and do a good job, but hey.

Have all my proper congratulations now.

Also, quick advice: being more open about all you're doing could prevent that kind of situation. Maybe something like a part in your bio where you say what you're doing and have been doing ? I don't know, just suggestin'.
Wait, idol, that's how fast you gave up on your proper capitalization? #tb{'_'}

We made a big mistake! She fooled us all! #tb{D:}
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
She never technically agreed #smrpg{y}

Hmm, really? Like what exactly? I don't think I might help with Twitter/Facebook stuff btw (mostly because I have a pretty strong hatred for social media like this, tho I use Discord and Youtube, so my opinion is probably invalid LOL), but I really wanted to at least try and see what I can do for this website that's not just supplying ports for the music section #wario{-_-?}

Once again I'm surprised, lol. Didn't expect this to happen so sudden. But I digress.

Regardless of this choice, I hope SMWC can improve more and more with the flow of time. I mean, if she got there, it's because she has proven herself, so let's expect some good out of that.

Congrats, idol, and may you do well with this task.

It's like the 2016 election all over again.
My layout has removed you.
i hope going forward we can get more transparency on staff changes to avoid any confusion or surprises. it would be nice to know what new staff members' qualifications are, what the nomination process was like, and so on, kinda like what idol did in this thread. similarly, it would also probably be best to know the reasoning for staff members departing. some might view five staff members mysteriously resigning over the course of two months as a sign of instability in the way the site is being run when in reality it might just be because of something innocuous like their real lives getting too hectic.

that's just my two cents though
I can't believe SMWC is corrupt to the point of appointing an SJW to the position of administrator...

This site has really gone downhill and is truly rotten to the core now... Sad!

The number of staff changes in the past 2 months haven't really been much different from those the rest of the time, we just didn't announce them publicly as we do now with the Staff Status thread (which was made for the sake of transparency to begin with).

But to sate your curiousity, here's reasons for all the resignations currently listed in said thread (and we'll give future ones a bit more detail as well I suppose):

Wakana had a disagreement with some other staff members and chose to resign of his own volition.

Sinc-X lost interest in moderating music and the community as a whole. He still wants to make music and is still working on VLDCX judging though, as well as planning to host future Idol contests.

Koopster resigned because he planned to do so pretty much from the moment he was promoted, he just wanted to get certain stuff done and make certain changes before he could do so at ease. I think he just prefers to be a user without the stress of managing staff stuff.

Amaraticando wasn't all too in-touch with the site for most of his stay as a moderator, and by the end he kind of just faded away. I don't think he ever made a post in the staff forums about resigning, he just stopped existing and the resignation happened over Discord.

Ersanio resigned for 3 reasons, for one he did not think that he was being all too useful where he was because he could not bring up the time to stay up to date on the site, the other reason were these time issues, because him TRYING to keep at the top of things took time he was better off spending on irl stuff, and the third reason is personal, again real life related.

Raidenthequick decided he isn't good at leading things, so he stuck to what he's best at which is ASM and memes.

Medic resigned because he'd rather play Overwatch on my account all day than do anything related to SMW. Unrelated to all of that, check out this sick POTG I got personally on my own account, with my hands.

Mirann resigned because he too did not feel like he was as useful in his position as someone else could be. I personally think he also was under real life pressure, because he kind of rushed his resignation.

For completion's sake, I guess here's the rationale behind all the promotions as well:

Nameless was promoted because there basically was no music moderation team (only Maxo and Sinc-X, the latter not being very active as you might imagine from his resignation) and Nameless has been showing interest in helping out for a loooong time (as well as being certified to Have The Skills Necessary).
He was far from the only person considered if anyone was wondering about that.

idol was made PR Manager because Koopster resigned and wanted her to be, with no complaints from anyone because just as with the admining, pretty much everyone is on board with her talents.

FPZero was taken into the PR team because he was thinking about doing certain things (which the first installment of is going to come out tomorrow it seems), as well as co-handling the Twitter with idol for the time being. He wasn't really a hot discussion topic because he's been on staff for years in the olden days.

Eevee was promoted to admin as Ersanio's choice as he was planning to leave at that point, because Eevee is Certified Trustworthy and capable after leading the hack moderation team for quite a while.

Katerpie replaced Eevee as hack team leader because, well, Eevee was busy with other things now and he's stuck with the hack mod team forever.

Nimono replaced Raiden because Nimono likes YI hacks and wants to try and incite more interest there (plans for that are still in the works actually).

Teyla was made the Twitter person because he's ancient enough for a lot of people to know him and know that he's trustworthy, as well as knowing how to tweet (and definitely not because he already had plans for some stuff to do in his application).

white_moth was made Kaizo mod because he does the Kaizos and is a swell unproblematic good boy.

Hinalyte was made admin to replace Mirann as userbase administrator (meaning to handle tasks like password resets, making decisions on staff issues we can't come to a conclusion on, helping mods out with the admin-only tools when needed, as well as assisting in staff management with the rest of the admin team).

idol was made admin with the explicit purpose of being in a head admin leadership position much like Vitor and people like SNN used to be, because there was a big debate about what we were missing in terms of admins after Hinalyte's promotion, with the result being this, the realization that we didn't have a clear leader unlike how we did through most of SMWC's history. idol was chosen for basically what she said earlier, she was the person most qualified with the most support among the staff team.
If anyone earnestly thinks that this is some kind of corrupt takeover, it should ring some alarm bells when this wasn't even really a controversial topic among the majority of the staff team, all of us are corrupt!!!

If there's anyone you're wondering about that aren't on that list, feel free to ask. It's not supposed to be secret as much as we just didn't see much of a reason to share.

ask me if i give a f*ck...
Alright, then I know what I wanted to know.

I'm very sorry for being so rude towards some of the promoted people of recent times, as I had no idea that most of them were so helpful and active to the community. It just didn't seem as apparent as I would've thought. Now it's time to end the controversy and accept the good job you are all doing.

will keep this in mind for the future, but our nominations are thoroughly discussed beforehand. we have something in the pipeline soon that may be cool tho, keep eyes peeled this weekend

this i'm more iffy on - primarily from a potential drama standpoint. if people leave for personal reasons, they don't need to be publicly stated in respect of that person. most people just leave cos they dont have the time or interest to moderate their sections anymore, or it's for personal reasons. there isn't much controversy amongst staff though - it's a pretty strong team currently in terms of communication and making sure folks are on the same page. basically if youre not staff youre missing out on a good staff era right now 👀
Honestly, you guys should trust us more. We take promotions very seriously and we have them all discussed, and even if things go wrong (that inevitably happens, we're all humans) we make sure to have it sorted out by sitting down and having long talks with the members at fault.

i recall complaining some time ago that we never really had an "SNN" replacement. im glad someone is willing to step up to the plate; that makes me respect the decision, as well as idol, even more

i don't know if my suggestion is derived from a mistrust of the staff. i just think that it would maybe make users who are less in the loop about all the big name users on here feel more invested in promotions. it's easy for us to take for granted our closeness to certain members which obviously leads us to getting excited for them when they get promoted, but to an outsider, these changes might just seem arbitrary. i suppose there is the staff page but i feel like it's a page that people are less likely to seek out than announcement and news posts.

maybe this is getting a bit too off topic for this thread lol
Really sorry for off-topic but

This isn't totally exact. I decided to resign because I was being very busy, and I didn't want to waste a place in staff for doing nothing.
The reason you wrote is just a consequence of the stress I was having back then. It was really stupid of me to say what I said in my resigning thread, and I said sorry for that to some people involved.
You should also mention that I showed signs of coming back (iirc someone was hoping I'd reconsider, which I did, I'm way more free today) but you guys for some reason aren't letting me in anymore, and I doubt it's because you don't need another hack mod, so #smw{:TUP:}
Well while I can't speak for the actual incident since I wasn't on staff at the time, I can speak for the hack moderator part. We're actually not in need of hack mods right now, and if we do in the coming months Dan will likely be promoted up from within.

Beyond that, we have not made any considerations.

we're drowning

I always complained about us having way too many hack mods.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
