[Full Hack] Mario's Keytastrophe: Rebirth Edition

i'm on ten different levels of high right now
Wow, I was not expecting this. I thought for sure Mario's Keytastrophe was dead. I remember playing it way back around the time I first joined SMW Central. I sucked at it then and probably would now, but it will be interesting to play this with modern design and resources.

----------------

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
nice.

...

Seriously though, I never really liked the original Keytastrophe, so seeing it not only rebooted but actually finished was both a shock and a heart attack to my system. I'm also a fan of how the game is structured, as 1-screen level hacks are becoming more of a trend ever since 100 Rooms of Enemies (Self promoting ftw) and Super Mario Logic came to be. No longer do I have to run from the left-side to the right-side, or the top and bottoms of the screen many times over, and instead I can focus on one screen, and one screen only. Yeah, I'll definitely give it a try when I'm not busy with my own projects.

more like catastrophe
ask me if i give a f*ck...
whoa. this is amazing. I had no idea this was even being made.

I'm brushing the dust off my copy of snes9x right now to play this
i think the music fades out whenever a p-switch runs out, and sometimes in #16 - indiana i'd clip through the floor and die when i restarted the level with no rhyme or reason to it.

other than that and getting stuck here and there i'm having fun so far!
Is this real life? ...on a serious note, I was not expecting to see this at C3. Played the original Keytastrophe several years ago, so I'm definitely gonna give this a go sometime soon.
I'm I the only one who never played the original? Although I did hear about.

I'll probably play the original first, but I have to say, this does look great. I'll definitely play it at some point.

The switch music fade issue only happens in 16, but I have no idea why. I've tried different songs, but it does it not matter what. No idea why.

Not sure about the floor clipping issue either, but I'll definitely look into it.
Really loved this short hack. 59:20 is my time.

Some of the music really makes my ears happy. Each gimmick is also used quite well. Polaris was slightly annoying but it's fine. Indiana was quite slow (and has that music error). The invisible coin block in Herring should be marked, as originally I just keyjumped to the keyhole. But overall, this is amazing.

keep an eye peeled on the youtube channel... you might find a Bonus Episode...

Is the map theme still the same?

Yes, and a couple of other themes are remixed versions from the original game.

Probably not a bad idea, though I kind of assumed players would see that there's a gap there with a nonsensical mole and try and jump up anyway. It could probably still use more of a hint though. Thanks for playing it!
Talk about a blast from the past.

Nice work getting the hack completed. I can't wait to give it a try.
Ehh, this is totally a ripoff of Mario vs. Bowser. Laaaaaame
hmm, would this be a good "first SMW hack ever played"? #w{=D}
This hack would be a good introduction to puzzle based hacks, nothing too difficult, can be completed within an hour or two. Not even a need for savestates or anything.
I haven't played this yet (I haven't gotten the online BPS patcher to work), but I must say that from the few YouTube videos I've seen of this game, I'm a little sad that the entire Melodia plot seems to have been dropped from this version.

Does anyone know the music of the levels? Particularly "Wanefo" and "Perpetual", as I've never heard it before and I really like it.
