"You're not allowed to utilize unintended behavior and glitches in your level design directly. This includes glitches the player has to perform at will, such as block duplication and walljumps as well as glitches you as the designer can utilize, such as tile 1F0 and similar, the fake water glitch, line guide warping, etc."

Someone has to bring this up. This is not that vague, but still kind of vague.
If you have to ask about something, don't do it.
Flying fish are okay.

Is there any limit of sublevels inside 1 level?

Would this be acceptable? Using mines like this?
So it's like Vanilla Level Design Contest.
Except it's actually vanilla, right?
Хуй войне!

No, but if you go completely overboard to the point of your level simply not fitting into the collab alongside other levels, it will have to be cut.
So keep it reasonable! VLDCX grants each user 7 sublevels, so with the expected lower turnout of this contest that should be fine. You can go over 7, but at some point it'll get risky.

Yeah, that looks completely fine to me.
The rest of the level doesn't, but I'll just go ahead and assume that it's a WiP. If it were to stay like that you'd lose points for presentation.

Yeah. It's just a loooot more restricting than any other contest we've had.

at least now I dont actually have to be creative to make levels and all I have to do is just edit Yoshi's Island 1 while pasting random shit

still aint gonna do it tho #wario{>:|}

btw yes its joke

Finally, I'm very expectant

One question: nothing was mentioned in the rules about the submission format, but I assume that submitting a .mwl is a valid format (by common sense)

Huh I recall adding it to the rules... yeah, submit a bps patch along with every level file in a .zip file.
i hope i make a good level this time
I didn't read anything about the overworld in the rules, so I just want to be clear if there are restrictions on that.

Yes, don't bother making one.
As with every level contest we've ever had, it won't be judged.
If you absolutely have to make one for god knows what reason, don't use external graphics files or anything whose equivalent is banned in levels I guess.

Ok, thanks.
#wario{O_o} I DIDNT KNOW THIS HAD ALREADY BEGUN
ask me if i give a f*ck...
I'm going to make a castle level as usual because those are like the only kinds of levels I actually enjoy making.
I'm not really sure if I'll actually be able to enter this due to Exams and Summer plans, but hey I'm looking forward to seeing what you all can put together for this thing! I liked the idea of the contest, so hopefully these restrictions can spawn some creative levels. Good luck!
