Also loving the game a lot. Might in fact be my new favorite 3D Mario game (still need some time away from the game before I can say that for sure, though). I just love how much there is to discover. So many moons and other secrets in every little corner of the game, and most of the capture abilities are also pretty neat. Not to mention that it's the first main line Mario game with a story I've actually been invested in. You know, that's not to say that it was particularly deep, complex or long, just that it felt like there was actually something at stake this time and that I really wanted to see how it ends and thus completeld the main story quickly. I wasn't disappointed. Almost everything about the end-game was amazing (sure, the game wasn't particularly difficult, but that really isn't its point to begin with - even less so than it was the point of previous 3D Mario games). Now I'm going for the 100%, and boy, there's still so much to discover. In some levels I had already collected around fifty or more moons just during my main playthrough and am still nowhere near completing them (naturally the more moons you've found, the longer it takes to find any undiscovered ones). Then there are also levels that I've barely scratched the surface of during my main playthrough, trying to complete the story, so returning there will actually be like discovering them for the first time. To be honest, my "post Mario depression" was almost about to kick in already (I know "depression" is exaggerated, but I do usually feel some kind of "emptiness" for a short time after completing a good 3D Mario game). However, I'm still spending so much time on each individual level trying to find every last moon that I don't think I'll be done with the game for quite a bit. That's a good thing. It's really rare for me that, after completing a game, I still have so much fun that I don't want to stop playing for quite a while. Heck, Super Mario Odyssey is that one game I absolutely want to see some DLC for (well, a sequel would be just as fine, but, you know, just give me anything as long as it's this good).
In other words: Super Mario Odyssey is that one game that absolutely justifies buying a Switch for, and if the console wasn't already difficult to find before, I wonder what it'll look like now.
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
