I was told to lower the brightness by GD so lol. Should I just make them a bit brighter?
Considering cherry blossom pink is a brighter and more reddish color than what you're currently using, yeah.

Fixed it.
The pokey tileset isn't limited, it's just extremely finicky and has the potential to make a level super annoying, way more than other sprite tilesets.
If you don't include the Puntin' Chuck that is. They seem to be the most annoying sprite of all. Swoopers can be annoying too, Blarggs and the rest, not so much.

Love this oriental level! I do wonder where these two levels will go...They will go together, that's for sure...
Just so you know, I'm very active on the site anymore like I was before; I'm mainly on Discord now.

Does this look okay?
I think this looks ok. At least i doubt anybody would minor your score because of that.

If it wouldn´t be that a perfect square, but a more or less round circle (or at least a bit less perfect linear an just there for a Yoshi coin) instead it would be better i think (because real nature just rarely contains perfect geometrical shapes)

I could make it triangular probably
Am I being too rude if I say I don't like the shrine-gateway thing? The way you changed pallete for the bottom of the pillar is just bad, I think you should go with some other tile if you want to connect it with another color. Also one of your screenshots shows a chuck running behind the leftmost gate pillar, which looks wrong for its given angle. You should only make the rightmost pillar have priority over sprites.

I think you better off going with the ghost house tileset for some of the terrain (even if it's overused), as it fits more the shrine concept (if you have a shrine gate you might as well have a shrine lol).

I don't like the "cherry-blossom bushes" too. I think the forest tree tiles with a very bright pink color could work better.

Also I did like better your previous bamboo with the pipe tiles. I think you should go with it even if it looks exactly the same as Blizzard Buffalo's. This concept is kind of limited in resources, so you gotta use what you have.

Those were my thoughts, I hope you'll do a good job there. Good luck!

A torii is a traditional Japanese gate most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine, where it symbolically marks the transition from the profane to the sacred. The presence of a torii at the entrance is usually the simplest way to identify Shinto shrines, and a small torii icon represents them on Japanese road maps. They are however a common sight at Japanese Buddhist temples too, where they stand at the entrance of the temple's own shrine, and are usually very small.
Here's a video of where I'm at so far. I hope the secret exit isn't too dickish.

Hardly. I enjoy constructive criticism of my works.

You mean the black part of the pillar? I actually didn't modify it (it could probably be darkened). I may or may not use a different tile depending on whether or not people want that or not, but I'll come back to it later as I need to actually get the design of the level done first.

Could you provide an example of something I could use as a decoration or something I should replace? Kinda blanking on what I can do right now lol.

I find the one I'm currently using is easier to use and doesn't clutter things up as much, but yeah I'll probably change it back. Only trouble is that I don't have anything to put on the top of the bamboo so it just looks cutoff.

You have to play attentive to find it, but i would place coins at the x-height of the key where the land is. You know, to avoid a blind jump. Of course you could just aim to jump to the key directly, but thecoins would indicate, that this isn´t an unfair 1-Block-tile where you have to land on (also the Key may be more recognizable if there where the coins, too).

But that´s just stuff i would do. If you think this would make your level too easy, then it´s still if you leave it the way it is now.

Here's the final product

Didn't think I was gonna make it in time, but I did. I apologize if the level itself is lackluster.
