(Revised) Snow/Ice Level

Not all too much to show, but a few screens of my level I'm working on this year. I'm definitely not the best with enemy placement or level design so any comments appreciated.

Music: VLDC 9 Snow/Ice Overworld

Any comments appreciated #smw{:TUP:}
Ooooh, looks beautiful so far, mte. Though the only thing that baffles me right now is the flames which are currently ignited around this place. I mean, if the place is made of ice, why aren't those torches melting? I'd advise maybe maybe the flames blue and/or freezing the flames, to give the feeling the place is actually frozen.

I would love to see what you can do with this kind of level theme.
Just so you know, I'm very active on the site anymore like I was before; I'm mainly on Discord now.

I can see people complaining about the hot pink sky, but mostly the more faded bottom part should be visible in-game and the contrast it provides is quite nice.

I kinda like the hot pink sky. I'd change the BG to contrast the foreground a bit, however.
This level seems to use cool design ideas. Maybe it´s not overwhelming outstanding, but i´m sure this level is going to leave a positive impression, since it uses vanilla resources in a nice and creative way (design-wise and asthetically).

Also i think the Palettes are ok, but Foreground and Background need some "fine-tuning" to be really good (man i know this problem)

Thank you for all the positive comments and suggestions!

On another note, it's update time #smw{O_O!}

Not all much to show, but I've recorded a video of the design so far.
You can view that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhBPVli8Y8Y]
(I recorded the video before I made the changes. Also I'm not sure why the video doesn't completely fit the window)

Also I've decided to remove the torches and try to add some more decor. I also tried to make the background a bit darker, but I'm not great with palettes so any opinions welcome. Here is an image of that below.

I'm thinking of making the later half of the level in a cave and using the torches in the cave. I think it would be a better fit as using the torches to somewhat illuminate the cave.
The level looks alright. I like the purple background, it doesn't really hurt the eyes or like, it's just brighter than the average. People are too accustomed with dark or blue sky levels.

Since there's a few screens I can't comment much, but that level has the potential of you doing something pretty simple but fun, with variety sublevels and minor gimmicks around the ice level.

Looking forward for more!

Back again with a new update. Procrastination got the best of me, but anyways on to the new content.

I decided to try to add more variety to the level. This is my first VLDC contest I'm entering in so I'm anxious to see how it is ranked. I'm going for an icy ruins themed level. I feel like the palettes could be a bit smoother, but it is definitely not one of my strengths. Also the torches in the background are animated. I tried to make the background appear darker so the player could differentiate the background and foreground.
Side note: The origin of this level was actually after hearing the VLDC 9 Ice Overworld theme. I thought i could make a level that fit along with the song, so yeah. Thanks Lui37 you are an amazing composer.

Feedback much appreciated#smw{:TUP:}
