So if i keep the original SMW Athletic theme because i feel the remix doesn't suit my level as well as the original, for example, is it going to be changed in the final rom? I noticed a lot of worst world levels in VLDC9 had the new remixes, even though they did not fit the atmosphere of the levels at all and made them feel even worse because of it.

Personally I really like the original Athletic theme, and I mean I'm open to new song suggestions of course, but if I don't find something else that fits I want to be sure I can keep it with my level.

some level in the eight vldc remained with the original grassland music, I guess you can just ask for it to not be changed to a remix.
If we're judging the music (and according to the description for "Aesthetics and Polish" we are), then the music used in each level shouldn't be changed. That's a big reason why we have a music request thread now instead of when level submissions are over.


Layer 3 tides + free vertical scrolling + dolphins, is there any way to fix this other than not using free vertical scrolling?

In case you dont get it, with free vertical scrolling if you scroll the screen up and go into screen with dolphin, it gets cut-off and jumps in weird way(keeps going up, jumping when dolphin should fall down and then warps around the screen).

I was not planning make hacks for a while, so the third episode of the "o ninja negro" series will take a long time to make, and "Mario in neb's land 2" is cancelled.
darken: o que você fez com a pedra é permitido, já que é como se você estivesse colocando um tile por cima do outro (no caso, colocando a pedra por cima de um tile de cor sólida, tipo F9-FF). (Lembre que você só pode colocar um tile original por cima de outro tile original)

Mas o que você fez com a folha não é permitido - você pode recolorir tiles, mas não pode trocar uma cor por transparência.

(Muitos posts em português por aqui, sorte de vocês que o host é BR :P )

Se eu me lembro bem a folha tinha transparência antes, ele mudou ela pra uma cor sólida e não o contrário. Quase certeza que é a folha usada nos galhos no tileset da floresta

In this case it's partly to explain things better to darken so I don't think it's that bad personally, but yeah I guess that went on for a bit too long, sorry #ab{>_>}

Reposting it in english, is the edit of the L2 cave BG included here fine? Since it's included in the allowed resources thread I thought there was no issue, but it does change some of the colors to transparency. The specific color it changes is also used elsewhere in the tiles so it doesn't quite count as recoloring, but I'm not sure if it could be considered as a merge with the blank tile in FG2 either.

And neither does Magi's, though that one was in response to something written in portuguese so that's fine I guess.

To answer the question though, if it's in the allowed thread then it's allowed. They reduce colors in a way that isn't allowed to begin with (hence why they're needed).

And I'm not sure what you asked originally cause google translator isn't great and I don't speak french, but you CAN give transparent tiles a solid color by overlapping it with any of the solid color tiles, yes. You just won't be able to further overlap.

Also a reminder that even though everyone is competing against each other, it is encouraged that you both a) accept feedback given to you, and b) offer feedback to others. Remember that these are all bundled into a collab hack, so you're making the final experience more enjoyable by improving your own level/helping others improve theirs.

(plus, fierce competition with a bunch of good levels on top is always fun)
thought of a great idea for a boss (and im talking a real boss, no koopa kids and no big boos, OC stuff here). It'll provide context and some sort of conclusion to the level, and utilize all the mechanics and gimmicks up to that point.
Just have to decide if I want to use it or not. No idea how a boss fight in a level would go over in a contest like this. hmmmmmmmmmmmm
