Level mechanic ideas

This i a thread where people can post ideas for levells thaat have special mechanics. DO NOTE: this is NOT a thread for overall hack ideas, you'd want this thread. Let me give an example:

A cool level would be a winter blizzard level, using a white-transparent layer, fast white particles behind and in front of Mario, and slippery controls. The ultimate ice level.

Another could be a dance-cub styled level with ex-animated miscolored Marios bouncing around in the background. Flashing lights, Tokyo Machine's PIXEL...

A variation of the 'asceticism' concept. Collecting a gem increases your timer by one second. You start the level at 0 seconds. One exit requires you to avoid all gems and not advance the timer at all. The other requires you to constantly collect gems in order to keep the timer from running out.

Chapter Two: Land of No Shame

A mechanic similar to VVVVV's main mechanic except when you hold down A while jumping and press a direction, you fall that way and gravity changes to that said direction

For example, if A is hold and ->is pressed, Mario will fall right and gravity changes to pull right, which DOES NOT effect enemies.

This is an extremely clever concept. Good job.
A level where everything get swapped by the ON/OFF switch, example: Once the switch is ON, your enemies are goombas and koopas and the ground is normal, once the switch is OFF, they swap places and the ground turns into ice.
Too complex but for puzzle maps this would be interesting.

One day I'll make a layout...
