After a long battle with many casualties, the humans were victorious.
They sealed all the monsters underground with a powerful magic barrier.
Many years later...
Mount Ebott, 201X.
A single child ascends the mountain, ignoring all of the warnings given to them.
"Legends say those who climb the mountain never return."
Many more followed the child. Who knows where they have gone...?

This is likely going to be a roleplay-heavy forum game, 60% due to the source material.
When you start the game, you may pick from one of two species:
HUMANS, or MONSTERS.
HUMANS, as a result of their powerful SOUL, are split into one of eight categories, choosable by the player. Most classes can also tap into the latent energies of the UNDERGROUND in order to cast magic.
DETERMINATION, the force that keeps one going, no matter what. This class is affected greater by the EXP curve, and has unique ACT commands that allow for easier sparing of some enemies. This class cannot use magic.
INTEGRITY, a force that allows one to follow a strict moral path. This class has a greater chance to dodge attacks, and can cast unique dodge magic.
KINDNESS, the force that makes one never abandon a friend in need. This class gains more HP from healing items, and can cast unique defense and healing magic.
JUSTICE, the force that keeps one on the path to salvation. This class has 100% accuracy, and can cast unique accuracy magic.
PERSEVERANCE, the counterpart to DETERMINATION. This class is immume to KARMIC RETRIBUTION, and can cast magic to manipulate KR.
BRAVERY, a burning spirit in a human's heart that makes them never shrink away. This class has higher ATK but lower HP than DETERMINATION, and can use unique attack buff magic.
PATIENCE, an icy core in a human's soul that allows them to wait for the time to strike. This class has higher HP but lower ATK than DETERMINATION, and can use unique max HP buff magic.
and INSANITY, the hidden spark within everyone's conscience, provides powerful spells, but these have a chance of hitting either side.
Rumors abound about a hidden class, but no such class exists.
MONSTERS are more free-form, coming in many shapes and varieties, with many different types of magic.
Create your own moveset, and I will judge it, nerf and buff it as needed, and then enter you into the game.
