How organized are your folders?

I'm really, really unorganized. I literally have AddmusicK in a folder with my 8MB emulators and I have hacks spread out all over the folders. Here's a quick look at just what my tools folder looks like. I am an insane human being

So how unorganized are you guys?
I usually organize the main directory make folders for my own hacks, general hacks that I download, tools etc. and a folder like "random" where I throw everything that doesn't fit in the folders that are already there.
I used to have a general folder for each tool in the documents folder and different ROM's randomly scattered across them. Now I have individual folders specific to particular hacks with different folders inside for each tool I'm using with a copy of the ROM in each one, and maybe 'levels' for mwl files (even tho that tends to be the elephant in the room). If I take a break I find myself relying on the 'date modified' to reorient myself.

I literally have everything (rom-hacking related stuff) in a single folder.

ASM - Seperated by author
Docs - Seperated by section (GFX, ASM, etc)
Hacks - SNES9x 1.51 (for more inaccurate hacks), has a separate folder for storing IPSes in case anyone asks me for a hack (all seperated with folders)
Testing - Accurate emus, each in its own folder
Tools - Folders for each tool (LM, GPS, etc)

smw.smc is just an all purpose clean rom. I use it for patching and I have a copy of it in the SpriteTool and GPS folders each.
16x is just the VIP6 baserom lol

i blame my aspergers lmao

And yes, I named my computer LEOMON

I'd Show my Folders but eh German

I have a SMW hacking Folder with like 30 subfolders, 28 of which I never use because they only have old cancelled hacks and downloaded resources I wanted to use for them, one folder for Lunar Magic with like 5 subfolders...
and my AddmusicK folder which has like 100 subfolders (correction: 95) because it's where I just throw every ROM/hack/Thing I Play/edit in so I don't have to copypaste my ROM 50 times and mess up which Version is the recent one.

My folders isn't very organized, I have separate folders for current projects, and all of those folders have own AddmusiK and GPS.

Semi-Organised. I have got an SNES folder where you can find at al. general tools (e.g. emulators, assemblers) and a SMW folder.
There you can find my various hacks/ testing ROMs but also a folder for documents, other hacks (again, semi-unorganised - hacks contests, kaizo hacks or a couple chosen ones are found in own folders, though) and tools.
Speaking of the tools, there you can find other stuff aside from tools (i.e. graphics, musics and ASM files) and yes, they are sorted into their own cathegories and even there I sorted the files further.

ASM Patches - The .asm patches I'm using.
Hack - The folder with the ExGFX, GFX, sysLMRestore folders, the ROM and the LM auxiliary files.
Miscellaneous - Contains the zip files and IPSes of the hack.
SMWC Graphics - Every bin file I downloaded is in this folder.
SMWC Music - Every custom music I downloaded is in this folder.
Tools - The tools I'm using in the hack (Asar, AMK, SMWSBE, Sprite Tool, Effect Tool, SpriteTIP). Doesn't include LM and YY-CHR.

Also 'Danielle' is my mom's name.

Currently 52 files and folders in a folder named "Mario"... lol. Most of those files are .smv's that I share with other people in a collaboration hack, JUMP1/2, to let them see which areas of a level I have played correctly and which areas were too hard / not clear enough / too easy.

About every month, I do a "clean-up" of everything (LUL)
I'm usually organized now, but my original folder (which I still have somewhere) was a MESS.

my main download folder (x'd out folder is secret project (and just as poorly organized))

when I do a contest I'll make a new folder and pile all my resources into it. I just have roms everywhere, like 3-4 in every smw-related folder there. I used to delete folders I thought I was done with, but after the 6th time of restoring sa-1 I figured I'd just leave them there.
ask me if i give a f*ck...
The only folder I ever bother organizing is the one where I keep all my backups for obvious reasons. Otherwise, I just give each tool its own folder and call it a day.

I'm organized to the point of giving my folders custom icon graphics.

Hold the phone—you can make folders?! This would've made my SMW romhacking experience so much easier!
Extremely. I don't like clutter or messiness (on computer or irl). Plus, I tend to go on month long breaks from hacking, so it needs to be neat and straightforward once I return.
My layout has removed you.
It all starts in a little folder called ''boss test'', which i made years ago. I have no idea for what it was for, but i still put stuff in there and use it to this day. One of the things that are sorted however, is the ROMS section. Pretty much every hack i played goes in there, and some hacks even have an special section such as the ton of Japanese hacks i have...

I kinda organized it now but i still don't feel like that it's the most clean thing in the world #w{:s}

Edit: Have a little screenshot.

Crazy serious.

With over a million files for SMW alone, my need to stay organized is an understatement. Gotta keep up on what's what in the world of pokemon SMW hacks. You create and share them, while and I try hard to just preserve and curate them.

Recently I've run out of credible file piles to assimilate, so I'm wondering if anyone is interested in donating theirs (fresh or stale) by email, and let me put names to them. Most hacks submitted for review here are rejected, however I don't judge and would like to give everyone a full chance to save all from being forgotten.
