I'll try make it more original. Also, there's a secret item. Try to see if you can find it.

The coin section is a lot more bearable, but it may be just enough to get on some people's nerves. Make it a little shorter, add some enemies and scenery, and it should be good to go.

That will be next on my priority list.

Not really a big issue but at the end of this level after the skulls fall off the lava they clip through the wall and then continue falling.

The town level is ok, I didn't notice anything worth mentioning, so I didn't screen anything. Nothing changed in the "unbeatable" level so... No comment there. I also had some access to some of the original levels from SMW for some reason but I assume you're going to put actual levels there eventually.

I'll see what I can do about the clipping. I was already aware, just never did anything.

BTW, I'm glad you didn't hate the town level. I'll improve on it. And, those levels from the original game? Yeah. I'll replace those eventually.

I'm surprised nobody has pointed out the clash in this image yet. Sure, it's a nice background, but it doesn't fit with the foreground, and furthermore, the rest of the graphics. I would suggest sticking to a specific style, which in this case seems to be close to the Vanilla SMW style. Graphical constancy can bring a hack together instead of it being a collection of levels.

I don't think it's a good idea to use the same background more than 2-3 times, especially if the levels are ordered together. Try using different backings to make each level stand out from each other

I disagree with this. When designing levels in part of a world, I would suggest keeping the graphics almost the same throughout, for the same reason I said above. Make levels stand with level design, not graphics.

It's probably been said here before, but I'd highly suggest you add more media to your updates, so people can see what your hack is about. Screenshots/videos/etc can help make people more interested in this. Oh, and on a minor note, why not include the link to your demo in your updates instead for referring people to the initial post. It would save a few clicks.
here is my review of this hack:
Levels are creative, i liked the idea in level 3 how you use trash cans to go through levels.

Stuff you need to fix:
There is too many 1-ups.
Glitched map:

Too low ground:

Disappearing Hammer Bro:

Minor cutoff:

Also, in this place the game slows down:

This hack is very creative. I liked the ideas of some levels.
Though the "shop" in 3rd level leads me to YI4 side area.
But, it's a work in progress.

NEW BUILD RELEASED!
8/3/2016
Pre-Alpha 0.99
CHANGELOG:
- New Overworld, far from completion.
- World 1 is almost completely done
- HDMA Gradients for backgrounds
KNOWN ISSUES:
- Slowdown in certain parts, could possibly be fixed with SA-1.
- Some minor graphical issues with HDMA
- Some annoying sound problems
A bit more work, and the hack will be in Alpha stage! This might be a little too ambitious for my first ROM hack, so I plan to put back the original music until some point in the future.

Review:
Some 1ups were removed.
Hammer Bros still disappear, remove one and it should be ok.
Some ground is still to low.

Is that intended?

P-switch door in level 2 is now outlined, but you should place it (P-switch) in a visible spot.

This looks weird. Replace some of these blocks with normal grass ground.

This looks cool.

Castle doesn't disappear after you complete it.

Also, the water in level 4 looks static.

EDIT (8/13/2016): I forgot to mention, but I also added glitched goal spheres in every level so I could test the OW quicker. I'll remove these in the final release.

might as well give a review of what I played.

Overall, this hack is okay. It has issues which I feel needs to shown that overall ruin the experience.

Okay, see that green twinkling squished rex there? Yeah, that's actually a goal sphere. Two things wrong with this. 1. It's a glitched sprite. Never use glitched sprites. EVER. 2. It's at the BEGINNING of the level. Meaning that you can skip each and every single level. Why? Because it is in EVERY LEVEL. You need to remove this.

Uh... boring.

Even more boring.

#smw{-_-} Can't say I'm surprised.

Try to add more enemies please.

Why do the fireballs go through the ground?

Forgot to mention that the status bar goes behind the decoration often.

What's the point of this room. Hint: None. In fact, you can only beat this level by hitting that glitched goal sphere in the beginning of the level. Not to mention it plays the water theme from SMW. Kinda unfitting.

It is very easy to dodge those para-koopas. In fact, I fast forwarded practically the whole thing because it was boring.

You see where Mario is ducking? Underneath him, there is a bit of cutoff.

Ugh, Iggy. It's fine, but you could've at least used one of the other koopalings from the game. Or even better, a custom boss.

Unedited message.

I hope you take what I said to heart, and fix all of these issues.
Because as of now, this hack isn't very good. But, I'm sure you will improve and make this to be a great hack. Good luck #smw{;)}

I explained this already. They're supposed to be there. I also know that the sprites are glitched in most levels. I put them there so I can quickly test the OW as I continue to work on it.

The level is in fact, beatable without the glitches goal sphere. Why do you think I put so many trash cans? (Hint: They're not a reference to my name.)

Where? Because I looked through the entire thread, and never saw you mention anything about glitched goal sprites being there. Furthermore, when you are going to release something (alpha or not) you should remove those before you release it.

Okay, But I think maybe a message box would've helped.
Oh shit. I just realized I forgot to mention the glitched goal spheres. Not to worry. I edited the changelog. Thanks for pointing that out, OmegaYoshi.

Don't worry guys. I'm not dead. I just need some time to plan stuff out and make levels.

Also, I've been having problems with my computer, so I won't be able to update for a while.

I've accidentally distanced myself from the SMW ROM Hacking community so much that the future of this hack is uncertain. However, I don't want to give all the rights of this hack to someone else, because I know I will come back to it.

However, I'm not against the idea of the hack being made by more than 1 person.

Well it's good that you're not giving up, because this hack definitely shows promise. Also what do you mean, about that last line? If you mean, you need help, well I'm the guy.

I would absolutely love a helping hand for this hack.

I'm helping out. Here's the first level I made, City Outskirts.

Also I have an IPS patch, of this level. Tell me what you think.

First I saw this, I thought it's yet another bump. If you read it, it'll be some important info though.
