Abandoned hacks you wish were finished

One hack that definitely should have been finished was yoshicookiezeus' The Cookie Crisis. I haven't seen anyone mention it in a looong time, but it has very tight level design centered around mostly vanilla gimmicks, relying heavily on creative map16 and exanimation. Aesthetically, the hack is somewhat unique for a vanilla hack and uses custom drawn tiles throughout, something I wish newer hacks would do. The palettes are generally more saturated than those in newer hacks, which may be good or bad depending on your tastes, but I think they lend some charm to this hack.

The Artifacts of Marvelous Birds is another hack that's been dropped and I really wish it had been finished. The story centers around Mario saving kidnapped birds from Bowser and recovering their stolent magical artifacts. My own hack was partly inspired by it.

My hack.
What Kaijyuu said.

Also, Bonni's Quest, The Tale of Elementia, Mario's Keytastrophe, New Super Mario Bros. SNES, the hack that Reading was working on, and maybe that one that PercentN was working on. And the one that Schwa mentioned, though I don't think that ever really got started.

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
I have a bunch of hacks I made a few years ago. Some were slightly normal, while others were just very precise platforming.
-Makjang Mario World-it would have been cool to see level 4 (beyond what we saw of the preview) and beyond
-World of Pain-I wish I could have downloaded the video for 'Aggravating.' I can't find it anywhere, and it was fun to watch. It was an epic mushroom chasing level with an autoscrolling segment. It was shorter than the other stages but it made up for that by having a lot of info to process. I'm also curious to see what level 5 and beyond would have been like. I think Panga said something about losing it due to a virus.
-Any of my hacks that languish for eternity (or a long time) because another one that's more fun to work on and I think is more creative helps drain motivation I had to work on the other one.
If I didn't feel like I had to worry about the concept of time or other things I'm interested in or have to do, then I might have been more willing to finish every serious hack I ever started. I don't think it's very realistic to finish every single hack I start to have ideas for or else that would have to be (close to) my only interest.

Super Mario Land 3 Remix. Always thought that looked like a great remake of Wario Land 1 as a Mario game, and the 16 bit graphics looked really nice too.

Also, Mario's Exodus to Death. Did Soul2Limbo ever officially cancel that one?
For gaming news and Wario discussions, check out Gaming Reinvented and Wario Forums respectively.

As for Mario's Nightmare Quest? Well, it's currently on Fusion Gameworks, ROM Hacking.net or the GCN at the moment.

There was another hack that Panga made also. Something along the lines of "tools are for fools"... I really liked the design of it, but the videos on Youtube were taken down. Additionally I think the same virus made him lose it as well.

Extras

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

Mario's Lost World and Super Mario TKO.

It mighta been a fake, but if it wasn't, then that NES remaker of Final Fantasy 10 that was popular many years ago.

Also, a hack I was working on, which basically threw Mario into a Super Metroid type world, with added powerups using Powertool. Also have some older abandoned hacks I was working on, so yeah.
Check out some of my websites!

These, especially the first one. It's been a while, but I remember it having some really good level design and I loved the graphics, as they worked really well with the themes.
Oh yeah, I forgot about Super Mario TKO.

Nearly all hacks of mine I started and cancelled for several reasons, the most notable one being Facedesk. I started it and dropped and got back to creating it multiple times, and I was clearly motivated to finish it. I remade the levels basing myself on the screenshots and what content I recall they had before my computer suffered a BSOD, and when that problem resurfaced for the last time, I just gave up. I spent a grand total of three years developing it by the way.

Mario's Keytastrophe, Lunchbreak and Super Mario TKO, among other abandoned hacks, are hacks I'd wish were finished. World of Pain was remarkable as well and the fourth level was promising. Sad to know that a virus made that hack go away along with a plethora of other projects.

worldpeace stated in a YouTube comment years ago that he cancelled it because it was so time consuming to face a huge chocolate ASM project like that

SMW: The Creator and Bonni's Quest. I have no idea if SMW: The Creator is actually abandon or not but being that I haven't heard anything on it since it's demo came out maybe it's safe to assume that...

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh, and 3+World looked pretty good. Wonder what happened to that.
