I asked this in the IRC chat, and most people recommended LMSW, but I'd much rather play the level in game than in an internal emulator. Anway, I am currently making a SMW level that is far into SMW (Valley of Bowser). The problem is, I'm only on level 2 right now, and I would prefer not to beat every level until Valley of Bowser. How would I go about doing this?I'm back after a long hiatus. Should probably be here to stay. Hopefully...
Put Mario on the level tile in the overworld editor and start a game from a new save file.
just remember to put him back to the starting position of the hack, when you done with testing stuffMy Youtube channel

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I dragged him in the overworld editor to Valley of Bowser, saved, and then opened up my ROM. Mario still seems to be in Yoshi's Island though. What exactly am I doing wrong?I'm back after a long hiatus. Should probably be here to stay. Hopefully...
Delete the save slot. Or the entire SRM file, your choice.<blm> zsnes users are the flatearthers of emulation

If you don't have anything in the level that is dependent on being in a particular overworld level, you could just put a screen exit in one if the early levels that leads to the one you want to test.

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
