Things you hate

And another useless thread with weird answers that I like to read because I really have nooo life whatsoever and really just like to see what other peoples opinions on things are as I am that kind of person.

Today we have a KQOTW with the question : "What you hate in a category of ________"

Our week's category is....

Movies.

SO rant all you want because I want to see how many people will hate each other for hating a movie they love.

GLHF!

(Note: Categories change on the fly so don't embarrass yourself by putting a totally unrelated thing)
Surprise! I'm using the forums.
NOTE: Spoilers will be unmarked because these are bad enough that I don't care if you get spoiled before watching it.

Secret of NIMH 2-an animated saccharine direct-to-video cheap-quel that tries too hard to compete with Disney musicals. All the character designs are art-shifted to this lighter and softer style and it has cartoon physics, terrible musical numbers, a big-lipped alligator moment consisting of Jeremy and his caterpillar sidekick scamming the small rodents by pretending to be the Great Owl, and a prophecy that was pulled out of their asses. And this prophecy is a self-fulfilling one. Timmy is destined to save the rats of NIMH, and Martin gets captured and becomes the villain out of jealousy. The plot would be exactly the same if the opposite happened instead. Oh, and the heroine from the first movie, Mrs. Brisby, is barely in it at all.
If it wants to fill Secret of NIMH's shoes, its feet can start by growing bigger than a paramecium.
Human Centipede 2-clearly focuses more on shock value and trying to be as gross as possible than being compelling. Seems like the type of thing that could be a rite of passage or a hazing ritual.
Probably some movies reviewed by Nostalgia Critic and I Hate Everything that look objectively terrible- The Garbage Pail Kids Movie, The Amazing Bulk, Little Panda Fighter, and Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure come to mind. Two of those are mockbusters, which automatically make them terrible.

Just that time?
Threads from Qwholl.

Wait, the current topic is movies. OK then.

Threads from any person that happens to hate the exact same movies as Qwholl.
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
I hate how overrated Brutal Mario's bosses are. Like seriously the dragon boss is so broken yet people don't even pay attention to other good hacks.

Yeah pretty much.
Anti-intellectualism, pseudo-intellectualism, and political apathy.

As for movies, while WALL-E is my favorite Pixar movie, it annoys me when people act like it's completely perfect. In my opinion the second part of the movie could have been a lot more effective if they made the antagonists the humans, or possibly just the owners of the company that owned the ship. This would have made the conflict more interesting, because it would have put more focus on the humans actually deciding whether or not to give up their way of life to go rehabituate the Earth, rather than the nearly nonexistant reason the autopilot had. I also feel there could have been less dialogue in the second part to try and be consistent with the beautiful ambiguity of the first.
Everything.

Well, in the case of media, I don't really watch enough movies/shows/plays to have that many that I hate. My most hated movie, though, was Ella Enchanted. There are some works of media that are bad that you can laugh or shake your head at, but this was one of the few that I couldn't handle on a psychological level; I can't even stand to be in the same room as this when it's on. Beyond that, I saw the theater production of Grease and found it stupid, painful to watch, and a complete waste of 4 hours of my time, and Man of Steel wasn't that bad but was kind of lame. (It's ironic that such an action-packed movie could be so boring...)

Once Upon a Time in New Jersey is another play I saw, and while I generally get tired of the "cool bad boy" stereotype character about 5 seconds after he shows up on screen/stage (and I get tired even more quickly of the "good boy/girl tries to become bad boy/girl to get romance" plot)...it was mostly just unmemorable, not outright bad. Besides, it was a musical, and while I'll save my opinion on those for another time, the songs were pretty forgettable. Really, the only reason I even saw it in the first place was because my brother was in it (playing one of the main characters to boot).

On a more general level...racism. Or really, any sort of negative prejudice like that, which encompasses racism, sexism, xenophobia, gender/sex/sexuality-related discrimination, religious discrimination, and probably more. It also goes hand-in-hand with a lack of empathy, which is also far too prevalent in the world. I guess some people might have a legitimate excuse if their neurochemistry is off (one of my best friends actually qualifies as a high-functioning sociopath, and he's admitted that empathy is hard for him), but that's still no reason to be a jerk. I feel like probably 90% of the problems in the world, maybe more, would be solved if everyone just had more empathy. It seems like it's always "us vs. them, and we're the good guys" and putting up artificial barriers between everyone rather than actually trying to find out why everyone else is doing what they are.

You must love edginess and hypocrisy then.

I also dislike political apathy (I understand what it happens, but it's simply unacceptable that a lot of people my age simply don't even bother to vote), populism and prejudice - which I believe have all contributed to the culture of fearing and turning to political leaders that promise big things yet offer little that we're experiencing in the west today.

Oh, and a lack of knowledge about history. This video makes me fear for Americans everywhere.

Can we all just take moment to acknowledge how bad the movie "Trolls" is?

Wow.

Also good job to nearly all of you for not even reading the OP. #ab{>_>}

However, I don't hate any movies since I never watch any unless I've heard good things about it. My friend recommended Unborn to me, but her tastes are totally different from mine so I ended up not liking it, so... maybe that counts?
