Did we do it? Did we hack Mario?

Re: I've been gone a while. Last I was around, that music mod was shiny and chrome. So fill me in, what did I miss?

Recommended hacks since '10? Do we still use Lunar Magic now that Mario Maker is out (please say yes)? I see Mario 64 hacking is now a thing. Heck yeah!

Most important: DID WE DO IT, TEAM? DID WE HACK MARIO???

Oh yes. I had conflicting opinions about if I even wanted to hack anymore when it was first released but that's since kinda faded. In the end I think I'm glad I didn't shell out cash for a Wii U (or get one for Christmas) since LM levels don't just randomly disappear from the system with no transparency or ability to reupload.
I've also noticed as of late that most, if not all, patches in the patches section seem to have been quietly converted to asar. Definitely not complaining about that.

Nice, you're committed, I definitely would've used Mario Maker instead of laboring for years on a hack that people still somehow find fall-through-the-floor glitches while doing let's plays, lmao

Also: your location is an excellent album btw

I've always laughed at the people who think Mario Maker would cause a huge migration away from Lunar Magic.
They're two completely different beasts. Hell, I'd argue Lunar Magic + the other tools available are far superior.

Once we have a properly updated AddmusicK, a SpriteTool similar to GPS' mechanics (shared subroutines and SA-1 support) and updating the Cutscene Tool to be able to switch music with AddmusicK's coding; then, we can be able to assert that claim.

For now, we have to settle with what we have.
@Davros
Also, add some kind of magical SPC to txt converter to that list (one that works properly with little to no tinkering.) I have a million songs I'd like to use that I'll never get a chance to.

I forgot to recommend you this EVDawnstar. This is one of the best hacks if you're looking for level design.

More SA-1 converted patches as well.
What I'd want more than those (and sadly will probably never happen) is Nintendo embracing Mario mods.

there's no argument, it IS better
That's your opinion. Some people prefer one or the other, just don't say it like it's a confirmed fact.

since LM levels don't just randomly disappear from the system with no transparency or ability to reupload.

Nintendo has already stated why levels are deleted(and majority of them are because they used non-intended glitches like stacking stuff behind cement-blocks, or because they were sitting in servers and nobody has played them. Also star-begging levels are rightfully removed too), plus you can re-upload them, and there's even trick to bypass nintendos "no re-uploads" block.

Plus I've had SMM ever since it launched and none of my levels has been removed, even though some of haven't been played in months.

But yeah, both has their own advantages so I wouldn't compare these two since they both are aimed for different audiences, even when they do same thing(make new mario levels).
To assure your levels get played, you just need to play levels yourself. Tada~

LM and MM aren't very comparable anyway. If LM took on some of MM's UI and design choices, though, that'd be the tits.
