Thanks! I was actually considering patching the game to not allow p-switch jumps, wall jumps, etc. But what you pointed out is a good fix to the problem.

Is that necessary in a hack meant to be one of the easier Kaizo hacks out there and where everything is doable tool-less? Do what you want, obviously.

I usually don't comment on kaizo hacks, but because I've played Banzai Mario World, and played the demo for this, this is pretty great so far! I also like the gimmicks you used.

P-switch jump is probably harder than the spiny thing .-.

Also, very creative obstacles in the Horse Abuse level! Great use of Banzai bills, rip van fish, urchins, torpedo ted, etc.

Why thanks :) Although this is my fifth kaizo hack, I already have 4 kaizo hacks on this site, I've also made 3 pit hacks and 2 puzzle hacks (I'm not really a beginner at all...)

Hmm.. I guess it isn't really necessary; I was thinking for the people who want to TAS it, but I've never been one to care about TASes breaking things (as a former TASer myself).

I know that. I usually worry about P-switch jumps in all my hacks due to my perfectionist side, but do what you want.

So I finished another level, this one's called Friend or Foe. While the last level was about Yoshi helping you, this one is about Yoshi completely screwing you over.

I've also been uploading old levels as well, and I want to see what people think of this level, which also wasn't in the demo.
Friend or Foe looks fine, but I have a question, how did you the midway point changed? So that Mario is not big after touching the Midway point?

You could add a few obstacles at the end in order to prevent standing around doing nothing at all while waiting for the green baby Yoshi to fall. Everything you showed looked alright to me otherwise.

Yeah I decided to change the end a bit, since it was just a bunch of waiting. This time, it's a trollish Kaizo trap. You can't see the baby Yoshi falling, so the tendency is to hit the Yoshi block immediately, which screws you over.


No new levels to show, but I decided that for the special world, I would "remake" I Kaizo version of 4 special world levels: Gnarly, Way Cool, Tubular, and Mondo. I chose these because they have gimmicks that can easily be turned into Kaizo levels. The level design will have zero resemblance to the originals, just the gimmick and aesthetics. This has kinda been done before, but not really in this style. Another reason for this is I didn't want to have just random levels in the special world. If the idea sucks, I'll just scrap it and make different levels for it.

Springtime seems much easier than some other levels, and you did a nice job with it. Aperture all over again lol

There's a .map16 file inside this sprite with one row of blocks that have a specific purpose each, including changing its speed.

Thanks! Yeah I think I'm gonna put Springtime somewhere in the beginning. Originally, I was gonna have Get Rext be one of the first levels, but it's just way too difficult and I can't tone down the difficulty without taking out some of my favorite parts (like the end).
Gbreeze, your ideas are great. I love your style you make the levels. I can't wait for release of the whole thing!
