[APPROVED] 1-8: Lava Flow Factory

This level will be a layer 2 lava level where all of the lava in Bowser's world is manufactured. Later in the level, you'll see the process of how the lava is made, showing rocks being melted by fire and carried into tubes where the lava is carried throughout the level. The first part will have layer 2 lava controlled by the on/off switch, and the second part will have layer 2 lava constantly disappearing and reappearing, so you have to time jumps.

It looks really cool. The concept is real nice, I like the gimmick it has. You made a good job in the tileset too. I hope to see more progress soon!

Super beta background.. I'll definitely fix it up and made it look better later. I know there's like a tiny bit of cutoff in the background. The bg is from mega man, ripped by Roberto.

Hey, sorry, I haven't been able to work on a computer with LM lately, but I should have more to show on Tuesday. After that, I can work very quickly on the level and I'll probably be able to finish it very quickly.

Made a lot of progress on the first half of the level. I decided that the first half will be a slow auto-scroller (I know, I'm sorry. It's the best way to make these sprites actually difficult). It will use the spouting flames sprite as the gimmick. The second half will focus on rising and falling lava, and if I can figure it out, hopefully I'll be able to have the layer 2 lava controller by the on/off switch and constantly reappearing/disappearing. I might make move the background on this level to layer 3 and make it a layer 2 level as well and add some more stuff.

I personally think the foreground looks out of place in SMW's artstyle (Pinkish-purple is a really odd colour choice for a factory), other than that the level looks good so far, even if the platforming looks somewhat tricky.

I finished the first half, here's a video. I updated the palette and lots of other stuff, and got rid of the autoscroll (cause I realized autoscroll sucks).
Looks really challenging! I would change the Bowser's fire palette though, it looks kinda weird. Other than that, this level is turning to be really good, so I'll look forward to it!

This level was a fun ride. I love how it looks, I love how it plays, I love how balanced it is and it was, indeed, worth the wait to play it.
Just a minor issue:

I think 2 lives is way too much to give to the player, isn't it?

Too minor though, IMO. I give it an accept.
Since there is now a playable version, I'll give my state on this. The level itself is very nice, and like I said in my review of it (just judging from the things that we had, I didn't really judge, I just said "looks like fun, I'll go into more depth when we get the full version"), it is "classic Gbreeze fun", like I suspected. Most everything about this level is entertaining, and it has few things that I consider problems. There are a few fine tunings (I think Erik mentioned one already) that I'll be suggesting in my reviews of the level (stay tuned heheheh) to my thread if you want to see what else I have to say. However, this is just saying "accept or decline why or why not." For now, I'll just list the minor problem. More like, a rather large problem (maybe just in my eyes), with a very small fix. :D



When you get to this section, you can just jump at full speed or bring a springboard from the other section with you. The fix for the problem is so obvious and minor that I won't even bother with details.

I don't think this problem is big enough to just say "fix". The problem is so small that it doesn't even require the actual creator to intervene, unless for some reason there's another problem is found by whoever, or yourself :)

Accepted. On the the terms that Erik (or whoever) is fixing the bugged section.
this was really good. just a few things:

-might be worth moving one of the 1-ups to the second room? it feels strange to have two 1-ups in the first room and none in the second
-midpoint reappears when you die

other than that it was pretty great so yeah accept
