8X8 map wont save changes

I'm trying to make a custom block graphic for my hack. I'm using the Lunar Magic 8X8 editor and after I make the block and apply it to map16 so that the block graphic shows up in LM. I save my changes to map16 but when I close out and come back the block I made in 8X8 is gone and the tile on map16 is clear. If it's any help in 8X8 the tile spots are 210-213 on map16 it is block 201.

Thanks in advance

Once you've made your changes in the 8x8 editor, hit F9 and then press "insert GFX to ROM" in the toolbar.

Do note that YY-CHR is usually a better tool for GFX manipulation.

Also, welcome to SMWC.

Don't actually use the 8x8-editor to edit graphics. While you can use it to edit graphics with LM, it is more elobrate then with YY-CHR and I don't just talk about the saving system (which you can do if you F9 and then on #lm{insgfx} or #lm{insexgfx}, depending whether you edit vanilla or custom graphics but don't forget to not change the level number).
The things which looks complicated is the language (you need to rename yychr.JPN/ .ENG/ .ENU to that language [see yychr_language.txt for more information] your comuter is set to and restart YY-CHR) and stuff which only looks complicated at first are why all graphics are glitched (you first need to set the graphics format [even called so if YY-CHR is set to English) on the left but not quiet bottom dropdown menu first) and why all colours are glitched (you need to export a palette in LM, then press on the third option [called "palette" if YY-CHR is set to English) at the top and take the first option with "(.pal)").
When I use YY-CHR I cant find the spot where I want to put the graphic. Its on page 2 of 8X8 but I don't know where to look in YY-CHR
In order to edit graphics with YY-CHR you need to extract the graphics first i.e. press #lm{extgfx} #lm{insgfx} #lm{extexgfx} and #lm{insexgfx}. first. To see which GFX file you want to edit, take a look at #lm{sgfxby} but sometimes it's better use ExGFX (you know, you'll overwrite used stuff) so make a copy of the GFX file you want to edit, rename it to ExGFXxx (where xx is an unused number from 80-FFF), edit and insert and set the level graphics to the graphics you want to use.
The first three pages of the 8x8 are used for foreground/background, and the final two pages are used for sprites. Each page has two halves, which compromises one 4k graphics file. In order to find the number of the file you want to change, hit the red poison mushroom. You'll see in the grayed out boxes the number of the file which is currently in the slot.

So, the first half of the first page of will be be FG1 (usually GFX14, with the pipes), the second half of the first page will be FG2 (GFX17, bushes), then the first half of the second page will be BG1, ect.
I solved my problem. It was saved on Page 80 so it was ExGFX so I needed to bypass the normal graphics and import ExGFX to rom. Thanks for the help though! :)
