I tried make this level with multiple pathways and ways to deal with the obstacles. I think I did a decent enough job so far but could use more polish and testing in.. other ways lol. I used some of the resources scattered about, hope nobody minds. Criticism welcome and appreciated. Hoping to be more open minded this time around than the days of JUMP. The level here is maybe about almost halfway done, length-wise. I'm not especially content on the last two screens (I died in the middle of them).

One last thing, this level can already be cheesed with the line guide rubbing against walls air climb glitch. Would be cool if that could be patched out. I would like to continue using them and I don't exactly know how I would go about putting the working lines in with the graphic/sprite set I'm already using. Nor do I know for sure if I would want to use it anyway.

Whoops, fixed

heh, this looks promising. I like those "swooper" line guides and the piranhas that come out of bones. The munchers that grow on vines is a really cool idea; I remember using it for a project I had.
The rope bit seems a bit too precise for the very beginning of the level

Otherwise, looks great
Looks a bit on the stupidly hard side to me, but the atmosphere and overall ideas seem quite solid. I'd advise you to make it a wee bit easier considering it's world 1 though.

allow shy guy emojis in post footers you cowards!

well, it's basically on it's own world (considering is a bonus level)
I really like this, and I don't think the difficult is really an issue at all.

Honestly, even for a bonus level of world 1, some parts are quite precise in terms of compensation for whether you're powered up or not, especially at the part prior to the rope; crouching between the two bones can be very frustrating, considering the height of the moving platform. I'd suggest dumbing them down a bit while keeping the intended idea. Otherwise, seems all good to me.

Are you alive or just breathing?
Thanks everybody!

This section is somewhat of a diverging pathway. You are able to (unless I moved the rock since testing) make the jump from the moving rock to the piranha bones if you wait enough. This isn't finalized though so I might add more to that path.

Hello, is there more progress on this? Thanks.

I'm sorry about this. What with the holidays and Secret Santa distracting me more than it should have, I don't really have enough new to show. The next two weeks won't be too good either but I'll try to show something before leaving Thursday.

Well, if you're still busy, I can give you another extra weeks.
Apologies for this not happening last night but I was kind of deciding what to do with this. This is kind of the happy medium option. So here is two demos and they can be voted on I guess. Just enter the level Mario spawns on or play 106 in lunar magic.
one
two

I actually liked both #ab{>_>} #ab{<_<}
I found less problems in the second one though, and I like the balancing on it. IMO go for that one.

Also the piranhas look kinda weird when inside of the bones. That's more of a nitpick but thought I could mention it.
Overall I prefered the second version more. The only things that I bothered me were the chuck's rock palette and also this this, though they're nothing major so aside from that it was fine.

I see people are more in favor of the second one but would anyone be willing to critique the two of them?

Well the first one was pretty horrible, you've got a mushroom you can't collect at the beginning, some pretty cheap tricks, the part with the two moving platforms can only be completed if random chance says you can, and I gave up at the jump with the three moving platforms that keep you from jumping far enough to avoid the muncher.

The second one was far better, but there is still one issue.

That part on the far right of the screen is cryptic enough that I messed it up and had to kill myself. I didn't know how I'm supposed to pass through the floor by holding on to the rope. It's cryptic and weird, and impossible to organically introduce please change it or at least make it so you can have a second chance.

Just fix that and you'll be fine

If you mess up the rope part you can just jump to the moving platform on the left, come back and the rope will respawn, there's no need to kill yourself.

Fuck it, scrap my level
