Number one favorite has always been River Raid on the 2600. Used to play the hell out of it as a kid. I remember attempting blindfold runs way back when as well. Schmups have come a long, long way since the early days, but for me, nothing will ever compare to the unique mixture of simplicity and challenge that River Raid offered.
I suppose classic Mega Man would count as "retro". I'm not sure if SNES games like Super Mario World, Super Mario All-Stars, Yoshi's Island, and Donkey Kong Country would, though.

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
Super Mario Bros 2. Bit of a black sheep of the franchise and it's mercilessly difficult but it's surprisingly enjoyable, and the gameplay is unique and has its own personality.

Could probably also say Zelda Oracle of Seasons, though that one was from the N64 era and I have yet to actually beat it.
I think a lot of these need no screenshots since they're fairly well-known:
-SMAS
-SNES DKC series
-Pokemon Red
-SMW
-Super Metroid
-Yoshi's Island
-Super Mario 64 (that counts as retro, right? It's approaching 20 years old, but I have yet to see AVGN review an N64 game)
-Tetris
Kinda thankful I never grew up with the NES.
Legacy custom music
A site with a non-useless dislike button
SMW hacking channel

Cool, guys!

He's done a few. In fact, his most recent episode was an N64 title. Besides, considering it's cartridge based, it's not exactly contemporary anymore.
-DKC series
-SMW
-Sonic series
-Zelda: A Link to the Past
-Sonic Genesis titles
-Chrono Trigger
-Zelda: Ocarina of Time
-Zelda: Majora's Mask
-Mega Man 2
-SimCity 2000

I guess you haven't seen all of his episodes. He's reviewed several N64 games (Superman 64, Castlevania 64, etc.)

New Super Mario Bros. and F-Zero GX definitely.
Paper Mario
Banjo Kazooie
Yoshi's Island (snes)
Jet Force Gemini
Mario Party 1
Super Mario World
Roller Coaster Tycoon
Pokemon Blue and Silver (or had Gold can't remember)

Out of all of them Yoshi's Island would be my favorite, Banjo Kazooie is 2nd favorite and Paper Mario is 3rd.
How retro is retro? Because I adore PSX games, but I'm not sure if they are retro or not.

probably not retro
-Crash Bandicoot 1-3
-Resident Evil
-MediEvil
-Super Metroid (not psx)
-Super Mario World (have u guys heard of it???)

definitely retro
-Ninja Gaiden (i beat it too even)
- Super Mario Bros.
- Super Mario Bros. 2
- Super Mario Bros. 3
- Super Mario World (Obviously!)
- Yoshi's Island
- Super Mario 64
- Paper Mario

I'm obsessed with Mario!

My Inspiring Quotes on Personal Growth and Change:

"Resolved financial/personal problems equal greater growth!"

"The only constant thing in life is change; nothing is set in stone. The old is replaced with the new. Forgive yourself for past mistakes. When many different problems in your life are resolved (personal, financial, etc.), newfound strength and confidence is gained in the process. Usually, failures, lack of assertiveness, disappointments, incompetence, low self-esteem and lack of self-respect, financial struggles, and setbacks can cause us to change and take action to solve any problem, leading to increased strength and confidence. This you learn from experience.

I have been experiencing this aforementioned newfound strength and confidence myself for the past FOUR to EIGHT years or so, getting stronger with each passing year, learning with each mistake I make and becoming more joyful in the process. Because of this newfound confidence I've acquired over the years, finding my passion is of utmost importance in 2022! You can develop this strength and confidence in yourself as well!"

To whoever's reading this, you are amazing and you are capable of doing equally amazing things. Gather confidence and be yourself! Say goodbye to the old you and welcome the new you! It wants to arise every moment, but you don't let it. Learn from your mistakes and never make that mistake again! Find your passion and live it!"

Finding my passion in life, but I may still be active on SMWCentral from time to time. Still enjoy playing many hacks, but I'm widening my perspective on life and opening myself to the new.

Yeah, I'm probably going to go with Super Mario Maker, if we can assume that the servers would be up for as long as I need them.

Wrong thread. Although, when you think about it
