Super Mario World: Over the Mountain

Hi everyone. I'm new here. I've made a few posts in the help thread section, but this is my first meaningful post. For the last few weeks, I've been working on an SMW romhack called "Super Mario World: Over the Mountain", and I thought that C3 seemed like the perfect time to release what I have so far. This is my first shot at an SMW romhack, so feedback would be greatly appreciated. Also, keep in mind that this is just a demo, so it's pretty short.

Anyway, here it is.

Everyone! Give this demo a shot, it's one of the best vanilla hack I've played in a long while. Can't believe this is your first hack.
The levels have so much creativity and variety and the palettes and visuals (title screen, layer 3...), it's all just so good.
Just one thing there was little slowdown in the beginning of the second level. How about creating a thread in the work in progress section, as I'd love to see more updates of it in the future.
Check out my new hack thread:
Wow! Thanks so much. I didn't want to rush anything which is why it's so short. I'd rather have a short, good hack than a longer ehhh, one.
The screenshot of the overworld alone makes me want to try it.
Updated the OP with some new screenshots and a new link. I fixed some bugs from the last version.
Really cool! I loved the backgrounds, and the all the awesome pallet examination you did (especially the stars, wow). Keep it up, man.
Bump to say that I now have a thread in the "Works in Progess" section.

Wow, that title screen though, nice job on that :D
Screenshots look great as well, definitely gonna give this a try now
Really great work! Loved the design overall, was fairly easy but pretty well done so far. Aesthetics were lovely too - that sublevel on the last level was just... wow. Simple but awesome.
Hah, this was a great experience. I love the amount of polish there is just for a little demo!

Really a fan of how you designed your levels in a way they are easy and interesting. This is not easy to find.

So, how high is Mario gonna get in the final version :O
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?

I plan to have him go up, and then back down on the other side. The highest he's going to get is actually space!
