thanks for the reply. im currently trying to finish up the game, but school is not letting me. i trying to see what possibilities i can use instead of the cement blocks but im out of ideas and when i tried ropes i didnt like the graphical appearance of them.

there are some levels where you cant see what mario is standing on when you beat the level. in my game this is considered normal since to fit everything into one single screen this is sort of happens.

There are a few creepy crashes (I'm using Snes9X v1.53 on Windows 7 64-bit, if that helps), on the curtains level, it just bugged and gave what you get on Bowser's Castle curtains but with glitched graphics, then I had to unlock the hack and add a goal sphere to it using Lunar Magic. But after completing, I got a "hurry up" sound, then the screen turned red, then blue, then the Snes9x screen splits up to four, while I see the inputs only at the bottom-left. Next what I left it with is a black screen.

This is very strange. I'm using zsnes and have not had this glitch at all happen to me. I will check this out for myself.

Also you don't need to add a goal sphere to this level either. There is a hidden keyhole and you have to find in the level. Its hidden similar to how other items are hidden behind curtains.

All times should be infinite too so there should not be any hurry up sounds.

First: I loaded up the curtain level, and it glitches. I do not seem to be falling down. No, the level doesn't glitch, but the curtains do. The graphics were glitched to X's and G's. I also can't seem to go below.
Second: I used recover lunar magic to open the ROM. Then I opened it up and then I got the same glitch in Lunar magic. I added a sphere. I saved.
Third: I reopened it, and after I conplete the level, there was a hurry up sound, then the screen splits up to four, then there was a blue screen for a somethingsecond, and there was a red screen. Then there was a black screen of death.

I think it's safe to say that this hack doesn't work with accurate emulators.

Just got around to testing my hack with snes9x. I used a kind of special version. The version is snes9x rerecording 1.51 v7, its some custom build, but I just so happen to have it available on my computer.

Firstly, apparently the very top pixel of the last row in LM shows up in snes9x. This is kind of odd, but whatever. So I fixed a bunch of cut off with the game now knowing this.

Secondly, I tested the curtain level in bowsers castle and did not get the glitch mentioned above. The level just worked without any flaws. I think I've also tested this level on real hardware and it also doesnt glitch.

I'm still trying to finish this hack. Wish me luck.

My hack:
Worked on the game all weekend long!

Fixed the goal sphere graphics end block thing and got the urchin level working.

I now only have like 2 levels left to finish. I can't believe it, its nearing completion!!!

I also wanted to mention that when I make Super Mario Logic 2 that it probably won't have mario in it at all nor called SML2. It will instead be an original game with new original characters.

The reason for this is because I will be using tons of custom stuff (blocks, sprites) and some of these come from different games like mega man and donkey kong country and other stuff.

So if mario was in it, it might not make much sense, so to make all the custom stuff "fit" so to speak it will just be an original game.
So I've been working a lot on my game. My goal is to have it complete by Christmas, however its hard to predict these things.

I've made many changes over the weeks:

- Fixed cutoff

- Redesigned some levels

- Fixed some glitch type things

- Added more boarders

- Got sea urchin level working

- Goal sphere/block combo in some levels

- And tons more


Now I only have just a few things needed to finish the game.

1) Finish 1 final castle level with brown block platform

2) Get Green Hammer Bros walk off blocks working

3) Put in a cut scene of Kamek right before the final boss battle

4) Title screen

5) Story screen

6) Ending screen

7) Credits Roll

And that's it!

I am also releasing the next beta. Beta 2.1

Mini Update

1) Adjusted some graphics on a level so make it look better

2) Fixed Yoshi's tongue glitched graphics in the final castle

3) Added the feather powerup to the sinking layer 2 lava level to make the level easier

4) Contacted a pixel artist for the title, story and ending screens.

I'm so happy that I finished this because it was one of the last outstanding tasks in the game to complete.

My hack:
^ I have updated some levels since the last beta.

Namely:

This level was made easier by erasing the middle rope that once existed.




Added a feather to make this level a little easier.




Reduced the 2 ghosts down to only 1 ghost due to a intro screen not easily modifiable on this level. So this level is easier as well.




There may be a few other levels with kind of hard difficulty but i don't know how to fix them without redesigning them.

Also contacted a different pixel artist currently giving him the details for drawing the title screen ect.
First:

1. THE FISH LEVEL.
One of the fish starts directly above the water so I can't collect the silver coin if I have to collect 3 different coins. Please extend the ledge. I beat this level using TAS.

2. THE CASTLE W/ SPIKE PILLARS.
This is just pure skill... I guess. You need frame-perfect jumps to be able to get each of the question blocks while the P-switch is still in effect.

Okay so if you guys don't know I'm hiring a pixel artist to do the screens for the game.

I kind of told him what I want and here are his sketches. The sketch comes first before the actual pixel art.

However, I will be personally editing this by clearing up a little bit of the clutter and putting mario in a different pose, most likely jumping.

So again this is not the final image just a rough draft.




And for the ending screen.



I also want to have the words congratulations at the top of this screen and confetti falling down and possibly a port of the trophy music when you beat the race cup in Mario Kart 64. If anyone wants to port that music it would be of big help!

Okay so I took the artists sketch and edited it to more of how I want it to look. All I have to say is that I'm pretty damn happy!



Also I want kamek to be floating up and down slightly. Kind of like how Dhalsim is floating up and down here in this animated gif.

I see you got paper Mario in the screen and he is the only one coloured looks good
New version of the beta is out.

In this beta the block/sprite that greenhammerbro coded now works and the snake block level in the final castle works too. Its a rather minor update, but I wanted to have something available for x-mas.
