Unable to select custom music in Lunar Magic.

Link Thread Closed
Hello!

I am using AddMusic K (Of course) to insert music into my ROM, I have added some more tracks (At the end of the list) that don't replace the originals, when I go in Lunar Magic the only ones I can see are the ones that do replace the originals.

What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: I should also mention that the Nintendo logo screen uses one of the Bowser battle SFX, rather than the usual coin sound.
Redownload AMK and reboot LM.
Are you sure you numbered them correctly in the addmusic_list.txt?

I didn't touch the file, but after looking at it, it all appears to be right.
The number values of the original songs are different in AddMusicK.

Uh, ok? I don't understand what that has to do with the other ones showing up, though/
You're supposed to put the .msc file AMK gives you in the same folder as your ROM.

allow shy guy emojis in post footers you cowards!
My ROM is in the same folder as AMK, and the names of the custom songs replacing the original ones show up.
yes but the .msc file is what's important. your songs are probably inserted but they just don't show up in lunar magic
try playing a song of an inserted number that tells you that it isn't, if it doesn't work you're not inserting the songs at all.

What? The MSC file is in the same folder as the ROM and AMK, I know the songs are being inserted because the replacements of the originals work. But I don't understand the rest of your post.
Addmusic inserts the songs into the ROM, but the insertion itself doesn't cause the song name to show up in the music list in LM - the MSC file does that, and LM reads from the MSC. What Torchkas is saying is to set a test level's music to the ID of a song you inserted, EVEN IF ITS NAME DOESN'T SHOW UP, and run the level. If the song you want plays, then the insertion worked, it just didn't update the MSC file for some reason.. #ab{>_>} Make sure it has the same name (apart from the .msc part) as the ROM.

If the song you want DOESN'T play, it's an insertion error, and you must have done something wrong in AMK.

Hope that helps. #ab{:)}

Final got this working! Thanks guys! (Especially you, KTBHacking)

Finally I can have a full soundtack in my hack with more songs than the original!
Just to note, you can only reach to hex number 7F, because if you insert it at 80 or higher, it won't play the music in-game.

(This happened to TASPlayer, and his friend MV250 told him and I, why it happened)

Just pointing that out.

I don't know how this is relevant, especially because it's not true: you can insert music as 80-FE just fine (FF always fades music out).
It can insert fine, but it just won't play in-game for some hecking reason.

TASPlayer told me that he just heard a original SMW piano music faded out and then silence. He was sure he inserted the song right.

In that case, he was probably using slot FF specifically #ab{>_>}

He was using AM4 then. I just inserted a few tracks in random slots higher than 7F and they worked just fine.

He lied. Even the oldest versions of AMK let you use the 80-FE slots. Also, this thread has served its purpose already; there is no need to keep replying irrelevant stuff.
