I'd have to completely redesign my level as most of the tiles in my level are on Map16 Page 7.

I have a proposition - let's use an improved status bar. By moving it to the bottom of the screen and doing some DMA tricks we could get a lot of benefits, namely:
- Full 512x512 BG3 backgrounds
- Free up 12 colors in palettes 0 and 1 (the ones the status bar uses)
- Unclog player vision at the top of the screen for tall levels
When I say "full 512x512 background" I mean that you get the full image on BG3 and the status bar at the bottom. You know how when you scroll layer 3 vertically it messes with the status bar? It would get rid of that. I made a patch for this but didn't release it because I wanted my own hack to be the first one to use it. After seeing some of the levels though I think a second background layer would do wonders for a lot of them. I think the extra palette space would also be very appreciated by some people. There is one catch, which is that it's not compatible with ZSNES. It doesn't crash or anything, but vertically scrolling BG3s can't be displayed properly. Another topic for the "ZSNES is bad list" I guess.
So what do you guys think? If it wasn't obvious I would personally love to see increased BG3 support.

I really have no problem in implement that, seeing that I hate ZSNES (which is ironic because I have to test with it), but I want to see others' opinions. Also I planned to remove bonus stars so I might do that too.
Actually, something I don't think I've ever seen before is a replacement for the boring old bonus game. That might be something to look into.
