Po's Adventure

Yeah I see what you are saying I will try fix that also the icicle idea sounds cool!
I did it,thoughts?
Looks good, but I think it could look better if the ceiling was bumpy too instead of flat like it is.

Though, honestly, I'm not too fond of the ice pillars in the BG. To me, they look rushed. They're too straight. Try making them more jagged and trying to add depth with their shading. Also, The shading at the bottom of those pillars is too straight. I think it would look more natural if you made the shading curve more smoothly.
Adding a light glare to the pillars may not hurt either.

This? Also I will try improve the BG. although I not good at BGs.
Almost, but I was thinking less tall bumps of different widths continuously running along the ceiling, making a consistent bumpy surface.

I'll sketch something out to show you what I mean once I get to an actual computer

I think I get what you mean so dont worry#smw{:TUP:}
Although first I am doing the background.
EDIT:

updated background
I like the graphics style of this hack a lot! Looking forward to it. The level design is good to and I like the simplicity.
Thanks a lot #tb{:>}

That snow cave BG came out alot better than I expected. It's not that you aren't good at backgrounds; they're just outside of your comfort zone. But, since put your mind to it and got at it, you pulled through. The best way to excel at art is to venture frequently outside of your comfort zone. In my opinion, you should detail every other background you've made as well.

The "cake" level looks good, but the color scheme looks monotonous to me.

Try brown tones for the sides of the cake and a red tone for the candy-cane stripes.
Also, try deeper pink tones. For some reason it looks washed out and hazey to me.

EDIT:
There's one thing bugging me about the ice pillars. Their centers are too straight, especially the shading. My solution may be be somewhat of a long shot, but try making the outlines of the pillars curve like this:

Thanks, I will mess about the cake level pallets also I already started on making the other backgrounds better.
Oh I also made the roof of the snow cave more bumpy.
Looks better. Is that supposed to be one of the icicles on the ceiling?
Also, I made an edit to my last post if you didn't see.

Thanks.

Thoughts?
Are you getting inspiration from this? Because some of your screens look awfully similar.

No, also what is similar?
Heh. Now that the bigger issues of your snow cave BG are no longer bothering me, little things will.

Observe the lighter shade of blue at the bottom of the pillars. Notice how it cuts off in a straight line in some places between dark and light? To me it looks, a bit awkward. Try transitioning those shades less abruptly. Try to watch for subtle things like that when doing pixel art.

The last two screens you posted look very nice. Though perhaps the canopy of the trees could use some texture and shading.

Screenshots look ok. Great work! Bwahahahahaha!
Actually, I remember this Bowser quote from C3.
Who is your favourite player?
