If you bump this thread, I'll kill your cat

Discuss the species of trees/shrubs that are visible from your house, apartment, dorm, etc. Please use their specific names if possible, but I won't because I really don't walk to go out in the dark with a flashlight and handbook to identify them.

So, there are huge oaks above my house and you can really hear the sound of the acorns falling on the roof in late summer. I think the trees are actually growing in my neighbor's yard, but the bulk of their canopy is over my house.

In the front yard, there is a decorative red plum tree (and the fruit is surprisingly delicious.) There's a dinky apple tree further away on the parkway. There is also a maple that unfortunately died last year from a disease. Some sizeable rhododendron bushes are planted next to the house.

In the backyard, there is a large, healthy maple; a spruce tree; a magnolia; two pine trees; and also some Oregon grape bushes.

My neighbours has got a chestnut. It can be seen at e.g. my parent's bedroom or from the garrets. That's the ony one near my house but I've got an rather outstanding background tree. It can be seen if you also look stright ahead on the window of my room (which often happens). Don't know the name.
And then, my family has got a holiday home. The village where the home is parts of it are located inside a forest (and the house is there). No more words needed.
Lots of Spruce and Cherry Blossom trees.

Also Bamboo for some reason.
Lots and lots of Banzai trees.
Birch and Oak. We also have a couple of cherry blossom trees and there's a pine forest a couple of kilometers away from my house.
I don't have any trees in my street, screw the environment.

But if you really want, I can PM you my exact coordinates.
Pine trees, millions of them.
Also birch and oaks in the forests around here, but nothing really fancy anywhere (other than a few generic fruit trees in a few gardens).

We own a forest behind our house and I'm too lazy to check all the different kinds we have. We also have like 25 apple trees or something.
Lots of pine trees, which is good because I like to get the sap and rub it on my head. It's a solid excuse to put peanut butter in your hair, which I like to do anyway
