Bleh, I won't go into detail but.......this is a weird one level hack thing (but not really.) It includes a Warm Up Level and a Not-Warm Up Level.


~Plot~
Some weird nerd makes a romhack and forces people to play it. Mario, taking pity on the nerd, plays the hack. Yep.

Looks interesting, are you planning to add any ExGFX? I mean, it wouldn't make that much of a difference but you might as well since it's a single level hack.

I only say that because it's a short and sweet hack, so why not add some extra flair, ya know?
I'll be applying a few patches to spice things up though. Also it might not be just one level.....heh.
Heh, cool. I like the two different ground colors, and the sloped heights of the ground. The ground pallet needs some work to be less generic but it's not important.

It looks decent enough. Can't say I'm particularly fond of overused decorations like the half-buried tiles or the weird round things in the ground, but it's a matter of taste I guess.
...yeah, that's about everything there is to comment on. There isn't much happening in those screenshots.

I'd like to see more screenshots. What you have provided really doesn't give much of an idea of what the level is like. From what I can see it looks a tad boring. A good idea is to sketch out different paths Mario can take through a section of the level. I'm not really talking about non-linearity or split-paths or anything (though this adds replay value which is especially important on 1-2 level hacks), more of just different ways the player can overcome an obstacle. APPALLED has a pretty good section on this. I'd also try adding some more visual flair. Nothing overtly wrong, though. I figure as you continue designing, you'll develop a style and learn how to make things great.
