It seems as if a lot of the levels just seemed to start their level names with a first letter in common, but this may not be the best way to rhyme.

That's alliteration, and though it's somewhat similar as it's a literary tool, it's far from the same as a rhyme. Definitions:

Rhyme (most relevant is definition 2)
Alliteration (also definition 2)
well isn't this a good thread to see after coming back

I don't understand any thinking behind a restart. It's a baffling idea.

As for the names, even if I was the guy who championed and passed the whole "let's not use the same words more than once" rule, are you seriously discussing the merits and subjectivity of what is a "good rhyme" at this point of production.
Restarting the project is really an awful idea. True, the hack has been in the works since 2011, which is far too long; however, would everyone rather see the project completed within one year or two to three years if we start over? In other words, a restart means a longer delay (and a higher risk of the entire thing being abandoned.)
It would be a shame if the entire project were scrapped when it is within reach of completion (like ASMT2, which was about 90% finished.)

True, the hack may be somewhat dated now, but that's inevitable with any collab that takes more than two years to complete. Provided the levels are better than SMWCP's schizophrenic stages and all of the bugs are ironed out and, above all else, the hack is fun, obsolesence won't be an issue.

It at least won't be as outdated as Wizardry IV: The Return of Werdna or Dragon Quest VII. That is, if it can be completed as quickly as possible.

I wouldn't even worry about the hack being outdated. Look at Super Mario World, it is VERY VERY old, and it is still one of the funner games to play than some of the newer ones released today, and I'm talking about the good games.
