Hello SMW Central, welcome to the development thread for COLLAB 2, a project started by Neidave. You're probably wondering why I'm leading this instead, and that is because Neidave dropped out as leadership. That would've been the end of COLLAB 2 if I didn't ask him through PM to continue it, and he gave me his folder. So alright then, I guess that means we have to finish it then, right?! Well this project will only move forward if you, the viewer, decide to create a level for the collaboration.
This time, this sequel's setting will be Sky/Heaven themed, and a "Choconilla" styled hack, but some things will be changed so that the collab can be more limitless. I'm not going to put a level limit to this collab, so we can have more that 8 levels. Now for some things to know before you begin.
Rule & Important Information:
‣ This Collaboration will be running until July 3rd, 2016 to see how many levels we can get done during that period.
‣ Just because I said "Choconilla", that doesn't mean a completely different tileset isn't allowed. The graphics do have to be in SMW's style, however (ex. ex. ex.). Tileset mixing is also allowed.
‣ With the above said, you'll have to approve the graphics you want to use (SMWC or Self-made) to the thread first before you work on your level. If approved, you may start.
‣ You may not use any custom backgrounds; SMW has plenty of tiles to play around with. Any Layer 3 with "Super Mario World" in the title of the graphics are exceptions.
‣ All levels have to at least have a Midway Point.
‣ All levels have to have 5 Yoshi Coins.
‣ All levels have to be around the difficulty of this level.
‣ Any graphics mentioned above are inserted in the ROM already.
‣ The levels have to at least implement a Sky theme in anyway, shape, or form. Any themes combined with this theme is allowed.
‣ You may only claim/create sprites that are either alternatives to SMW, or from SMB1-3. The Final/Only Boss is an exception.
‣ You may only claim one level at a time.
‣ You may not use sample music, only unsampled. If it is partially sampled, let me approve it first.
‣ If you do claim a level, you must show at least 1 screenshot in order to claim it, then a screen shot PUR WEEK. If you cannot meet the deadline due to a vacation or even an exam for school, PLEASE Private Message me to let me know.
‣ After completing your level, you must provide the IPS here for feedback. Repeat the process until I approve it.
‣ When the above is done, you must send me all the necessary files (ExGFX, Map16, Level Files, Music) via Private Message.
I know there are a lot of rules unlike the last thread, but most of these new rules are related to custom graphics, or to actually have progress done. I'm pretty sure everyone was following most of the new rules when participating in the last thread anyway, so there isn't a lot new except for the last rule (which if it isn't obvious, it's the most important!).
