There are quite a few playable characters throughout this series. In the hacks that do have other player characters, they are often used in alternating levels (so for one level, you might be playing as Mario but in the next level you'd be playing as Sonic). This is also done for the purpose of storytelling, as you would find out if you gave this series a try.

And looking at those snow level screenshots, they look nice, but the solid blue background beyond the mountains feels empty. It could use something, like stars, clouds, an aurora... even just a gradient would look better.

Crater Porting is going very smoothely indeed. #tb{TwT}
Reminds me a lot of the factory level (Petroleum Passage) you made for SMWCP2--it even uses a very similar background too. I guess that's where it came from--I kinda decided to stop going through The Crater when you announced an update for it, since there's no telling how relevant my feedback would still be.
I see that you are reusing the Corrupt Factory graphics from H&S Bet 2. Interesting, as I wonder what level does it replace.
Modern Redrawn Mario Bros. 1.5 (last update - February 14, 2023, some new bonus frames, tons of minor touchups to various poses)

On Pixel Art Requests: Depends on what it is and if I have the time for it. If its complex and I don't have the time, don't expect me to accept it.

Huh, I hardly ever think of posting here. Well, starting from the beginning of February...

- Excellent graphics overall, as usual.
- That blue grassy mountain lava level looks pretty neat, though the background in the third screenshot looks a bit empty...or is that a Layer 2 sublevel?
- Ooh, a crystal level. Games could use more of those. (In the case of SMW hacks, it doesn't help that there are almost no suitable graphics for them....) Any Layer 3 there? Or will you keep the black?
- Those snowy mountains are pretty, though the background could use some HDMA or clouds (Layer 2 or 3; you could use parallax for the former). Maybe it's just because I was looking up stuff about Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams earlier, but that level actually reminds me a bit of Giana Sisters.
- Definitely getting an SMWCP2 vibe from that factory level. Does that mean you drew that one background in SMWCP2 as well? It looks pretty cool, in any case.

----------------

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
Yes, I drew one of the factory backgrounds (and foreground for the same level) in SMWCPII shortly after I finished this level.

I plan to get a background in the Crystal Mountain once all the cutscenes have been ported/remade into more condensed, shorter versions. I definitely agree that games need more Crystal themed levels.

Thanks for your wonderful commments, you're all beautiful for taking time out of your day to comment on my material.

Loving the new GFX. Excellent job man.
Layout by LDA during C3.
I got inspiration to use one of Leod's new sprites, and a short little section spawned from it. No, other "new" sprites will not be appearing in the hack.

By the way, anybody who's played the Fourth Sector will immediately recognize these little guys, providing you found them of course.

This is simply an announcement, expect the next post within the next day or so to be... a RELEASE!!!

The Crater has been finished being ported over for accurate emulator compatibility. Not only that, the whole story has been rewritten for a quicker, yet better D4 Experience.

The Devious Four, Expect Us!
I know I said the next post would be a release, but things never go out like they should. Crater is still in Beta mode and is going to be thoroughly tested before it is released so we can avoid what happened with the Fourth Sector. I hope all of you that are waiting on this can wait on it a little while longer.

---------------------Hunter's Revenge ReVised----------------------
Progress

That being said, how many people here liked "STAR WORLD 1" from the original Super Mario World? The level with all the turn blocks? Well, here's a new spin on the level.

Good to see more of Hunter's Revenge Revised again, bad to hear that The Crater's official release has been delayed. But I suppose it's for the best if it means all of the exits/midway points/etc. are in working order from the get-go.

The Star World 1 Redux certainly looks fun though. I always wondered why very few hackers have attempted to recreate it or a similar scenario.
Rejoice, Crystal Mountain now has a background!

This is all.
More stuff to show off!

Hunter's Revenge has come so far since its 2009 remake. Once I'm not so busy with school, I'll be sure to check this hack out. Keep up the great work Scorpion!

Vanilla Twist!

Just showing off some more Layer 3 graphics and stuff; I would show off more but I really don't want to spoil the level.
That looks awesome! Love the colors. The detail on it also looks really nice.
Just some more HRRV. #tb{:]}
