[MMF2] Project Demo: The Offical Game

No one cares about page one. Just go to my newest post in the thread for useful screenshots.
Wow, no comments.

Well you can always support this project with this: (Made by Tahixham)

I somehow overlooked this thread.

Then again, there isn't really much to comment on in the first place, asside from the sprites. It's hard to comment on the screenshots without there being much on them, especially gameplay-wise. The background is just a mostly unaltered Super Mario World BG and the foreground is rather boring and looks very generic. That's all there is on the screenshots except for Demo. Her sprite doesn't look bad, sure, but what other comments where you expecting in this thread asside from "the sprites look cool"? This is why I keep recommending people not to open project threads too early (or at least I would recommend it, but usually I'm too afraid of accidentally hurting someone and then again my advice is usually ignored, anyways). Simply put, it just doesn't make much sense to open a project thread so early in development. At that point there just isn't really anything ready to be presented to the public and, more often than not, projects like this are put on ice soon after they've just started. I don't recommend opening project threads before the majority of the game (gameplay and content) is in place. At least enough to be able to create a somewhat representative trailer for your game. Unless you want other users to actively take part in the development process, but that's not the case here, is it?
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
This thread was opened 16 days ago. Since then, I've inprove the engine and graphic's. I'll be taking screenshots later but just note that.

Also:
Update!

1. I finished the Status bar!
2. I edited a bunch of sprites to do some more things.
3. I have a working enemie ingame!

Screenshot:

Don't worry about it being to flat. I'll be adding Blocks and platforms soon.

You can also support my project:
Having the status bar elements so close to the edge is, in general, a bad idea. When playing the game in fullscreen mode, those elements might became cut off on some monitors. I recommend adding one or two tiles of spacing.

Ok, I have fixed it and added 2 pixel spacing.
Could you say something other then a 2 word post?

Don't know if 2 pixels will be enough, though. Some monitors cut off quite a lot of the border. I recommend something like 1 tile (=8 pixels) from the top and 2 tiles (=16 pixels) from the left/right.

Wow, an update:

Title Screen

The end of the tutorial level.

World 1's Hub.
I could try. So I assume your reaction is positive?

Not really. I just noticed the "Press Control To Start" and thought to myself "I just hope the game supports controllers". I personally don't even touch games without controller support, unless they're really, really good, in which case I use Xpadder or Joy2Key. But they're kinda annoying to use, so it's always annoying when a PC game doesn't support controllers.

As for the other screens, there isn't much to say. As I mentioned earlier, the whole project ist just way too early in development to get impressed by anything.

The thing has been in Devlopment since December and I'm getting a video footage ready for this.
Yeah, but three months isn't really that much. Especially if you're coding it all by yourself. I wouldn't judge this by time spent, but rather by percentage of completion.

Anyways, it's pointless for me to go on about this, just ignore me. I think I made my point clear that I don't recommend presenting material from a game before most of it is in place. I won't go on about this, I will just focus on the material you show in this thread.

I fixed how the door and background look.
Have a screenshot of 1-1!

I was trying to get a sonic-esk intro to each level working but it failed! So each level will have a billboard sign insted...
In my opinion the billboard sign looks rather ugly and hard to read. I'd suggest making it much bigger. Or try again making the intro screen – maybe look for some MMF2 tutorials. I can't give you a tip since I have never used this program. Also thanks for using my Shrek fan-art as the avatar. I'm quite flattened :D
The return:

Still working out some things.

Oh yeah....the new graphics. This will be the final design(?) ATM.
