Songs Needed (none as of 04/02/15 - good work!)

Yeah, the distortion guitar mixed with the bell is fairly unpleasant. Besides that I think it's pretty good.
Just started working on this. Just checking in if it's a good idea to continue working on it.
It sounds super DKC but I like it.
Oh man, I love the DKC vibes the song has. Keep working on it!

Some progress on the factory theme. Still needs a great deal of work; feedback would help a lot.

I'd recommend changing the high-pitched instrument that plays in channel 3 from about :25-29 and :31-:35 to something else; it stands out a bit amongst the rest of the instruments. Other than that, it sounds pretty good!

One thing you might want to watch out for is at 1:30, where the song's "bridge" starts, for lack of a better term. It seems to drag on a bit after that point, up until the 2 minute mark where the song loops. I suppose that's probably because you're not finished with it yet, but it's still something worth noting.

Yeah, definitely getting some DKC tones from this. It's very nice and relaxed. I'm interested to see how you'll fit the SMW melody into this.

DKC to the max, the start even sounds like a slowed down Aquatic Ambiance IMO. I give you the official Guy of approval.
I changed my mind people, I will make a grassland composition level #smw{:TUP:}

The music seems very good. And some other custom music can also be used to this collaboration hack.

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

That's the aim here, dude.

I like how this is utter nonsense, yet it's got some rhythm rather than being just notes spread everywhere. It reminds me of Earthbound somehow.
A major complaint is that it sounds incredibly empty. I don't think there should be fully silent moments at all. I would keep the rhythm but make use of the rest of the channels to add a bit more to it and get rid of the silence. Also, it's rather loud, but that's not hard to get around.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
rip ears. watch your volume, especially with @4! Also, could really use more.
Okay, here is that Castle Remix for you. It's still a WIP. I know you probably have quite a few submissions but I hope mine might be worthy. I am also considering sampled as well. Feel free to let me know what you think.

(Edit: I updated the remix at 7:14PM EST. If you got it before this time, you'll need to re-download it.)

i'd replace the @10s with @29s, make it less repetetive (shorten the start before the melody), i'd also look for a better instrument for the melody, @17 doesn't sound too pleasant for that. this is pretty good otherwise though!

Thank you Izuna, I finished changing those note changes and now getting rid of that repetitive part. Will update soon.

(Edit: The remix is updated, I hope you guys like all the changes. Thanks again Izuna, I can't wait to hear your reaction now.)

That's pretty good. It has a different vibe from the other castle remix from the 7th VLDC. I'm still not too sure about the distortion guitar around 1:15, but I can't really think of a good alternative unless you wanted to use .brrs.

There's potential here based on the samples/notes alone, but I think it's too early to judge. I'd like to hear a more fleshed out version of it when you get that far.

beautiful #smw{T_T}

It sounds really lacking and empty, mostly because it's really high pitched and lacks any middle or bass section, but also because there's nothing there but a melody. I guess the melody isn't that bad, but it's hard to follow since the piece isn't all that musical.

That's pretty good! However, I think it could still be improved further. The panning values you used on channels 3,4,5 and 7 are way too high. The @29 used as a timpani is awfully muffled and hard to hear, I would recommend to just use a custom sample for it. You could probably find a good sample that fits with the vanilla instruments in any other Nintendo produced SNES game. Lastly, the accidentals you added to the main melody don't sound that great with the @5. I think you should remove those from that part.

That's really terrible, and even though it's supposed to the worst theme I don't mean for that to be taken as a complement. The song shouldn't just be an excuse to make something without any effort. There's still plenty that can be done with the worst theme. I personally think it would be better to have something quirky rather than outright deafening.

Very interesting piece. Simple is the right word for this. It seems like it would be the melody for the piece and it sounds nice, but it definitely needs a bit more to it in my opinion. Also as Wuthering put it's hard to judge it with no middle and bass part. My advice is keep working on it from here to add a lot more because you got a good start.

Thank you S.N.N., I'm glad that you like it. Will .bnks be a problem to use at all in VLDC? I got a few ideas for a better distortion guitar and I am up for some suggestions for one as well.

Thank you Wuthering, glad you liked it as well. I have been looking into making this sampled so I will get a Timpani for it no problem. I will bring down the panning as well. Can you explain the accidental part like when exactly does it happen, none of this port that I know of has an "accidental part"? Or do you mean just @5 wasn't a good fit for the melody?

(Edit: Wuthering, I was looking at the panning and I did it that way to resemble the original panning of that part in SMW. Do you really think of it as too much panning? Does anyone else think I should lower the panning as well?)
