Original Graphics, Palettes and HDMA Showoff Thread

Welcome! As the name of the thread implies, this is where you can post images and other files of your own graphics, palettes and even HDMA gradients to get some feedback!

Mind the following rules though:
  1. It's recommended to comment on someone's work before you post your own work.
    - But please don't complain when your post is being ignored, nor repost it again if it did get ignored.

  2. Do not quote images or videos when posting.
    - They take up a lot of space on a page when quoted, making pages unnecessarily longer.

  3. Link huge .gif images instead.
    - Small ones to show off animations are fine, but something larger than 1MB needs to be linked.

  4. Do not post rips.
    - If you have a rip, please post it in our sister thread, Graphics Rips Showoff Thread. This thread is for showing off original works only.

To start it, here are a few sets I'm working on:

Not very good at drawing, but I guess those are not bad. (still have to work on fixing cutoff and adding some decorations)
Alright then, let's see how this thread will work out. #tb{:)}

You're kidding, right? Those look pretty professional! You've got some neat textures going on using so few colors, and the shading's nice as well. I could see this working in a "successor to SMW" hack of sorts, or even something Kirby-ish. Nice job.

I wasn't meaning to show this off, but for the sake of starting us off, have some forest:

This is my new home.
@Eternity: Those look really nice, I don't get why you say "not bad".
@WYE: My god! I've always loved your graphics, but this one... you're damn talented.
Dude, you should actually think about making money off of your pixel art. You're talented, and there are lots of people that are ready to give you money for those awesome pieces.

@Eternity: I would be inclined to believe you if it weren't a lie.

As far as drawing in fills go, especially with slopes. It's a good idea to copy the top half of the fill, and then paste it over the normal slope and just draw in the fill over the empty space.

Many drawing styles in particular look excellent. The first screenshot's bridge reminds me of the Ghost House tileset in particular; kind of homage, and is always nice to have around.

That desert tileset in the second screenshot is a really nicely done desert. Been a while since I've seen an original one that doesn't look like it's from Nintendo. Good work on that. Loving the shading, and the dark lines are a very nice touch.

The rocky? tileset, looks alright, and I understand it's a work in progress. I do hope you plan on adding some form of foreground decoration in the fills though, because it does look a little bland. Rocks or even small patches of grass coming out might do the trick.

@WhiteYoshiEgg: I understand you're trying to make a grass tileset, but I think it would look better if you had actual "roof" tiles instead of a Y-Flipped grass tiles. I know a lot of people do that, but for the sake of originality, make a proper roof tile. A good dimension for it would be 16x8. Just copy the bottom half of your fill, add some outline and shading; then you're good to go. The style of art with that fill might demand some extra work, but it'll be worth it in the end, trust me.
I hope spriting is welcome here.

@Eternity - I adore the cartoon feel from this. Nice job.
@WhiteYoshiEgg - That looks brilliant! It reminds of those 3d based games.
eternity, your sets are the cutest. wye, i like yours just as well
@Ruberjig:
Those look really professional. also ninja penguins are cute so good job.
Peach looks a bit too fat IMO.

:D my FG of pyramid, in progress :P
Holy crap, that looks awesome! :D I love the great amount of detail on the writing at the left of the screenie. Did you make the BG too or is that something else?

That's a nice-looking pyramid you got there. For some reason it reminds me a lot of Super Metroid.

Also here's a mountain.

edit:

Oh no, death!

@KTBHacking
Thanks! :), and... i dont make the BG, the creator of BG is "Carld923" a friend :D

@Dr. Tapeworm
xD!, your FG is nice montain of death!, the skeletons reminds me Castlevania the dragon skeleton drop fire... XD!

Now there are slopes! They're completely the same as any other slope! Wow!

Wow, Dr.TapeWorm, that looks pretty nice. A question, are your bones supposed to be so rectangular at the top?
Your layout has been removed.

Some kind of forest castle with lots of bricks. Inspired by World 5 from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

Since this falls more in line with showing off graphics, I'm posting this here.

If you've been following my screenshots from the other sticky thread, you might be starting to see some pieces coming together. Remember that building in the middle of the quicksand sea? Or those orange, symboled blocks in that fortress?

Anyways, this is a tileset I've drawn up for the towers of my hack (plus some animated quicksand). The ExGFX.bin still has some empty space, so this probably won't be the final rendition.
This whole thing just screams with style. I really like the orange mixed in with the beige. Very, VERY well done. The lighting effect is possibly my favorite part of the graphics you've shown off here. If not that, it's the style of the bricks you have.
@Dr. Tapeworm: Nice graphics, i just wonder which stage from DKCR is based, and also, when will you release these graphics.
@GeminiStorm: Which game these graphics came from? Otherwise, your graphic drawing is pretty cool, i loved the 8-bit style.
