New hack from me - Mario and Waluigi's Treasure Hunt

Yup, a new hack! Here's what this hack will bring:

New areas
New enemies
One new ally (Waluigi)
New story
Some new attacks
New equipment

Screenshots:

Fighting two Snarlys (blue) and two Pinky Plants (pink) in the forest.

One of the hardest non-boss fights in the forest: Stats will be increased a lot in this hack though (I am at level 2 right now). Also, a shy guy on the right.

The second boss fight of the hack, the Bad Rats! They have 210 HP each. Also...

...WALUIGI!! He's a healer and can boost stats, but also has some regular spells, like Thunderbolt.

That's all I have to show right now, please give feedback!
I don't even know what I'm actually doing anymore... will I ever finish a hack?
Sweet! An another hacker! :)

Looking back at the sceenshots, I think you should modify waluigi's palette, since it's not the usual waluigi's purple...^^

I agree, it looks a little pink. Will change that.

Anyway, does anyone know the data values for the five dummy spells that can be used by allies? There's one that looks like Drain, but it hits the user by default. I want to change this to hit the target so that I can have an ally use Drain.

I don't remember the value of the spell that looks like drain but...
Attacks menu > select the spell that looks like drain > Targetting(look down):
☑ other targets
☑ enemy party
☑ one party only
Suika Ibuki - 25107
The effect will still hit the player though.

Good news: all monsters have been finished (other than a few finishing touches I may make along the way). Now to finish all of the dialogues, levels and event scripts!

I'll start putting up new videos of the bosses once I fix this stupid bug where Waluigi often starts using Mario's palette during battle (the fact that he uses Mario's sprite may be the problem), anyone have a fix for it?

Glad to hear the monsters are done!

As for the palette fix, I'm assuming you're using Mario's sprite as a base for Waluigi. If you aren't using Jump or any of Mario's spells, the reason that's happening is you've probably changed the palette via 0-7 index change. The game always sets it back to 0 if you use an attack, which is why he turns back to Mario.
It's easy to fix, you can replace Mallow's image graphic index to Mario's and use Mario's animations, then change the palette set under Image Properties. Just tested it and it does work. Here are steps:

1: At Mallow's sprite index {0019}, set the image to 306, then set BPP GFX Offset to 30C4C0. Set the Animation to 239

2: At sprite index {0020}, set the Animation to 241.

3: At sprite index {0021} set the Animation to 242.

4: As with step 1, at the sprite index {0022}, set the image to 307. Set the BPP GFX Offset to 311680. Set the Animation to 243.

5: At sprite index {0023} set the Animation to 244.

6: At sprite index {0024} set the Animation to 245.
I'm replacing Toadstool with Waluigi, not Mallow. Tried to do something similar and it didn't work. Also, the items animation is messed up.

Oh, my fault for assuming. To fix the item animation bug you'd need to export Mario's animation at 245 and replace them in a new animation index, then switch sequence 2 (item animation) to sequence 4. And assuming this is your first time (sorry if this wrong! Guide may totally be unnecessary since you didn't ask) but here is a guide!!:

0: It's easier to know what is what by turning on the "help tips" by clicking the button.

1: At Toadstool's sprite index {0007}, set the Image to 295 (Toadstool's Image), then set BPP GFX Offset to 30C4C0 (Mario's graphics offset). Set the Animation to 239 (Mario's anim). Make sure to copy the index for the right palette here, too.

2: At sprite index {0008}, set the Image to 295 and the Animation to 241.

3: At sprite index {0009} set the Image to 295 and set the Animation to 242.

4: As with step 1, at the sprite index {0010}, set the image to 296. Set the BPP GFX Offset to 311680. Set the Animation to 243. Place the correct palette.

5: At sprite index {0011} set the Image to 296 and set the Animation to 244.

6: Sprite index {0012} has the item animation sequence in it. First, set the Image to 296 and set the Animation to 245.
Now, to fix this bug, go to sprite "{0006} Mario (crouch, up-right)" and export the animation by clicking , near the save box. Save the animation file, then go back to sprite index {0012}, and import over Animation 245 by clicking the , also near the save box. A screen should pop up and ask to import animation, and do so.
Now that Mario's animation is over Toadstool's, go to the sequence collection then move sequence 2 (item animation) to sequence 4.

Then that should do it! Ask if you need more help or have any more questions. Tell me if I'm being too helpful.
OMFG I FIXED IT!!!

But seriously, that's a bug I was trying to find out how to fix for a long time. As for the changing the image/animation part, I got that right before. Though, when you said 0022, I think you meant 0010,
when you said 0010 you meant 0011 and when you said 0011 you meant 0012.

As for the items animation part, thanks. That worked well.

I also found my own way to prevent the palette from changing: change the palette set to +1 of Mario so that Waluigi's palette is 0, and Mario's palette is 0 too. It worked well.

So yeah, glitch fixed. (Finally!)

That's great!! :O Glad you fixed it. Thanks for the input, I fixed that part of the guide
Here's a video of one of the bosses to keep this up to date:

Good to see you back. :D I like the boss battle, it looks fun!

Did you get the sprite I sent you?
Thanks!

Yeah, I did, but I'm not sure if I'll use it in this hack though. I was planning Pokey for my next hack actually.

I love the new waluigi palette. :)
