[-1] The POW Perspective

Maybe I'll actually finish my level this time.

The Gimmick

Level is only about a third of the way complete; will try to post updates and IPS when I can.
Oh hey that's pretty cool! I don't think I've seen POW switches used like this; now I'm curious as to how you pulled it off.

I think he used an ExAnimation setup where all the blue land appears to be blank tiles when the POW switch is not pressed, and reveals when you do press it. It is likely you can still interact with the blue land even when you can't see it, but the player obviously wouldn't want to be fumbling around like that--hence, the P-Switch.

Very clever, I must say.
Neat gimmick and not a bad level overall. I notice, and you can see it in the screenshots to the right, but some of the dirt tiles look odd. I would suggest looking at the original dirt tile design and go by that if you don't want it to look as odd.

Ooh, that gimmick is very clever! I've never seen one use a P-Switch for something like that. Maybe you could change the palette of the grass when it's done to make it stand out a bit more?

Keep it up, I hope this makes it into the contest!
Just so you know, I'm very active on the site anymore like I was before; I'm mainly on Discord now.
The shading of the blue grass and pipes looks a bit odd, it needs a bigger shading and a better transition between light and dark.

Overall it's a creative gimmick. You can go with various interesting ways, great job!

You can also try to combine with the blocks and turn the invisible ground into POW "?" blocks or coins that turn into ground acting like the brown blocks in the original.

Keep it up!
Wow, really creative use of ExAnimation. Great job, m9.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. As promised, here is the completed level.

The POW Perspective

Have fun with it, and such.
Won't test it yet (at least, not until after it's submitted in the appropriate thread), but I wanted to comment on how nice the gimmick is. It feels like something that could have been present in the original SMW. Cool job.
