Hi people, today I'm releasing some stuff for you hacks!

NSMB Star Coins

They try to simulate the ones in the NSMB series and they are very user friendly (I think).

It's a bit outdated because the 32x32 Star Coins aren't animated, but that is the only outdated thing.

New Glitter Effect for coins

Using the Minor Extended Sprites patch included in the NSMB Star Coins pack I added this new effect, it can be useful because sometimes the original glitter trail doesn't spawn because there are so many smoke sprites in screen (yeah, the glitter trail is a smoke sprite).

I don't have any screenshots or videos, but in the .ips posted at the end of this post (spoilers!) contains this effect.

It behaves like an eerie, but this one is defeatable when you jump into it.

Wow, this thread isn't getting noticed? I'm a pretty big fan of the sniper scope and the thunder cloud. Those two will be fun to use in my hack, heh. The Star Coins are pretty awesome, since they act exactly the same as the ones in NSMB (Them staying when you die at the midway point, how they don't save if you die, how SMW remembers which levels have them completed or not... yeah).

Really liking this! The Star Coins seem pretty useful, and it's really minor but I love the effect when you collect them - it's very well done. All of the sprites seem to be great as well, might use them somehow in my current hack.

Nice sprites, LX. That Lakitu cloud will be useful for my hack. I was planning to use something like that in my hack, and I ended up using a Lakitu that throws Sumo Bro's lightnings but it didn't turn out well so when I so that I was like danm... I'll definitely use yours now.
Sniper Scope and Thunder Cloud are neat! I think the latter can actually be of some use for VT since I'm getting to the sky world right now. I guess it kinda inspired me to continue working on it. :3

Also the NSMB coins are pretty fancy, too. Too bad it only allows you to have up to three coins in a level... Any way to get around that?

I think that I can allow up to 8 Star Coins, but I need extra FreeRAM... yeah, I should update the StarCoins.zip to allow that. Give me some time to do that.
Rad, I like your stuff. Oh, and if you need extra incentive, I'd love it if you allowed for more starcoins (five in particular, so I can replace the yoshi coins to have that outline effect)
Oh, cool. Might try those Star Coins to fix my HLDC level (that is, if you manage to allow it to have 5 of them in one level :D). Sniper Scope and Thunder Cloud are pretty cool (and well coded) sprites!

As for your levels: first of all, your level design is pretty good! I'm rather impressed by how smooth playing those levels felt. The ASM gimmicks you put were very well executed and made the experience a bit fresher. I especially liked that wall-jump patch, which is the best one I've ever seen btw. I wonder if it's yours.

There's only one thing I'd suggest for "bosque nocturno", which is using light colors instead of pure white in sprites and objects, so it'd make the level look a bit more nocturnal. Also, there was this little star following me around in a glitchy manner throughout the whole hack, but I guess it's a WIP thing that will eventually be removed.
Oh wow, these sprites seem kind of awesome. The Thunder Cloud reminds me of an enemy from Wario Land 1, so that seems really useful for both Wario Land and Mario Kart themed hacks.

The Star Coin... well, I was looking for one of these for months now. Having it means I can finally use Kopejo's Star Coin graphics in SMW.


And the sniper scope is great. Gonna make a section based on Krac Shot Kroc now.

99.9% Sure this is just the cpu meter patch. To give you a bit of info on it, the higher the star is to the top of the screen, the more is being processed/the closer the game is to having slowdown.
Looking at the video, the thunder cloud seems to drop fire a tad too quickly. Would there be any way to change that?

Not entirely sure how I missed this before, but this is some pretty neat stuff you've got here. Those star coins in particular; I'll definitely use them if I ever end up rebooting my hack again.

Anyway, are you going to submit these to their appropriate sections? They'll definitely get more attention there once C3 has passed.

That patch was made by MarioE, is already submitted in the patches section..

Yes, if I remember correctly there is a define in the asm file that controls the amount of frames to wait to drop another lightning.

Also, I only need to fix a bug in the blocks of the Star Coins to submit the new version that allows up to EIGHT star coins in a level. I did this after two hours since you requested it, but I was playing SteamWorld Dig on my Wii U.

I should add compatibility to WYE's DKCR Status Bar and Ladida's Minimalist Status Bar? This will be added in the future and won't affect this update because I don't know how that patches work and therefore I need some time to understand how they work (especially WYE's patch).

Are these blocks compatible with ExAnimation? Other than that, this will be a very useful and a great replacement for the Yoshi Coins. Thank you very much.
