Will you use more sampled custom music in your hack?

Since Addmusic series tool is stronger and stronger, it's easy to use custom samples in a song.
But when you actually make a hack and decided to use any custom music, what kinds of music you will choose?
You know these SMW instruments is sounds flat, but sometimes if you use sampled songs, the song may not fit the style of SMW level, so I am comfused.
I want to hear your options.
It really depends on what you're going for. As you said, using samples can cause the musical style to vary wildly between levels. This may be something you want or just don't care about. Unsampled ports make it easy to keep a consistent style since you're locked into certain instrument sounds.

In addition, sometimes there are sampled and unsampled versions of the same song, and it could boil down to personal preference. For example, in one of my hacks, I am using the unsampled version of Hot Head Bop because I feel like it suits the levels I'm using it in more than the sampled version does.
I usually tend to only use unsampled songs. The few sampled songs I use are either late in the game or "special" or optional levels. I often have the feeling that unless the sampled port is relatively obscure or is a remix of the original, if I wanna listen to whatever music the game is from I will listen to an OST or play the game.

I love sampled music, I use them whenever they're avaliable. That's because it's always good (imo) to retire yourself from SMW's boring instruments.
That doesn't mean I hate unsampled music, however. There are some music that sound really good with SMW's instruments. I just think that sampled music help the variety of your levels grow.
The power of the switch you have pressed will turn ◻ into ◼. Your progress will also be saved.
I pretty much never use sampled music unless I'm using the same set of samples for everything, which I in turn usually only do if I'm composing the soundtrack myself, or sometimes if I'm doing the entire hack in a particular style, such as Yoshi's Island or Super Mario All-Stars.

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.

Then don't reply it.
Don't be rude about it. It's not because he's unable to insert music he can't say that he'd love to insert the musics in his hack.
@Mirann: Oh, sorry. I won't do this again.

This thread may be of use to you.
It really depends on what you're going for. My hacks generally use both sampled and unsampled ports, as long as the port or composition fits the theme or situation I'm going for in my hack (level), then I'm going to use it, not just because it sounds amazing or what not, but because it fits.
Your layout has been removed.
i enjoy making and hearing sampled music, but as for what i'd actually use, i'd rather stick to SMW's samples. They're small, easily adaptable, and most importantly, they sound good when used correctly. i sometimes personally throw in a few samples if absolutely needed, or if SMW's samples just don't create the sound i want.

Overall, i'd rather stick to SMW's samples with one or two samples thrown in for certain things to give me more leniency, rather than sampled music, or both unsampled and sampled mixed into one hack. The latter just sounds way too inconsistent, especially because so many porters use different quality samples.
Thank you so much for the help and the replies :))))

I tend to always use sampled music in my hacks because I think smw's samples are pretty crappy compared to almost all other snes games.
I guess I tend to look for sampled versions of something I'm trying to find, and if I can't, I use unsampled music. So it really depends on what I can fnd if I use samples or not.

I don't use sampled music, as I create vanilla-ish levels. Sampled music fits with chocolate levels or some with a different game theme. I like how sampled ports sound, but I think they fit mostly with chocolate-ish levels. Sometimes they may work with vanilla-ish levels if the level theme is done very well.
I guess I don't mind music consistency that much. I don't think the tracks I'm using in my hack are completely inconsistent with each other, but I care a lot more for whether they fit the level they're in than the hack as a whole. There's two sampled ports I'm using right now, but both are for special levels and I don't think they're too distinct from what the other ports sound like (but that could be just me).
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
As far as I'm aware are the TSRP hacks the only ones that do soundtracks right. Musical consistency in hacks never gets considered as much as it needs to be. Although it is less important in a platformer like Mario, it still adds a lot to the atmosphere and the overall coherency of the game. Most hacks do an awful job at it, and while I don't think sampled music in and of itself is bad. I do know that no hack has ever done a sampled soundtrack correctly.
Any music consistency may vary. I'm planning on using some sampled ports in my newest hack, and it's the first time I'll do so (I've recently switched to AMK so things are more fair and there will be less problems from there on). I don't think any music that I use is inconsistent with each other and that it doesn't fit on the level it's put into, although there could always have different opinions as to that.
