Megaman Planet 0x

Standard

A 2 level hack, Staring Megaman!
Megaman is lost in a mysterious planet.
He must get help of someone to get to his planet.
Here are some screenshots:
(if you hate the 8-Bit graphics, sorry' :P)

That's all about it.
Also, Megaman have all of his abilities.
See you lateeeer!

The same person? Oh nevermind.

Looks ok, but can you do something about the black empty void in the upper half of the screen?
Also those tiles you use as ladders are doors in the original game.
There are other tiles in the tileset, that are real ladders.
How does the player look, when he is small?
I like 8 bit ;)

Empty black void..?
That's the message.
He he

Oh, didn't see it on the screenshot, but ok that is great. How many hits do you have before you die? And will this hack feature the infamous disappearing blocks and the ista-death spikes?

Looks great!

Blank void background isn't a problem for me since I played through all the classic MM games.

Will it play like Mega Man (disabled running, slow-timed jumps) though?
The level design looks good for a Mega Man game but if he'll behave like a fast paced Mario, it might be too easy.

Even with 8 bit graphics, you should still use a background.
Look at Wave Man's stage in mega Man 5 as an example.

You see at the beginning, how there's tubes running in the background?

Or the mountains at the end, like this?

You need something like that.

Also:

This should read "How am I here?".
"How I'm here?" isn't even a proper sentence. Sorry if english isn't you first language.
That, and the 1up is wrong.
8 bit mega man 1ups look like this:

(I love the mm games overall)
This Hack/Level looks okay, but remove from the status bar the coin/star and the time bar.

And your mega man look also a little bit strange, but good enough overall.

But I can't judge over only a hand full of pictures, keep it running.

Megaman can't run.
And he sucks at jumping. His jumps are small.
I'll try making it as hard as possible.
Because megaman is the point.
Also, 8-BIT graphics have 3 colors, am i right?

The same person? Oh nevermind.

I see. I can feel this is going to be like the Ninji Jump hack by 1updudes with a Mega Man twist. Great idea!

The black void background is common in later Wily, Darkman stages in the old Mega Man games but seeing as the theme in this one is he's lost in some planet, I agree a little bit of background wouldn't hurt.
Still looks great without though. :D

I have always been interested in NES-Style hacks, so I may follow this.
Also, to answer your question, kind of. Most tiles use 3 colors AND the transparency color, but if you don't count transparency as a color, then, yeah, but a tile can also use 4 colors, but then it won't have transparency. See "Gimmick!" as an example.

Please head to the 'Level Death' post at General SMW Hacking forum.

A preview of the hack.
This preview shows half of the level.
Don't ask me why the music is loud and weird.

Also a power-up: The flying thing i haven't named yet. If you collect it you will be able to fly. (Not like SMW, that you can fly all over the level, here you can fly for a very short time.)

You'll need this power-up for some areas, and some times, reach secret areas. a very useful power-up!

The same person? Oh nevermind.

the level seems to use good graphics, but the level design seemed to be repetitive and lacking a bit; not like your previous hacks, but could still use some more work. try to avoid using the same platforms, and try to use a gimmick per level, and increase its difficulty slowly as you progress through the level. remember that custom graphics does not necessarily make a hack good; custom stuff is only the icing on the cake. good luck!
My Inspiring Quotes on Personal Growth and Change:

"Resolved financial/personal problems equal greater growth!"

"The only constant thing in life is change; nothing is set in stone. The old is replaced with the new. Forgive yourself for past mistakes. When many different problems in your life are resolved (personal, financial, etc.), newfound strength and confidence is gained in the process. Usually, failures, lack of assertiveness, disappointments, incompetence, low self-esteem and lack of self-respect, financial struggles, and setbacks can cause us to change and take action to solve any problem, leading to increased strength and confidence. This you learn from experience.

I have been experiencing this aforementioned newfound strength and confidence myself for the past FOUR to EIGHT years or so, getting stronger with each passing year, learning with each mistake I make and becoming more joyful in the process. Because of this newfound confidence I've acquired over the years, finding my passion is of utmost importance in 2022! You can develop this strength and confidence in yourself as well!"

To whoever's reading this, you are amazing and you are capable of doing equally amazing things. Gather confidence and be yourself! Say goodbye to the old you and welcome the new you! It wants to arise every moment, but you don't let it. Learn from your mistakes and never make that mistake again! Find your passion and live it!"

Finding my passion in life, but I may still be active on SMWCentral from time to time. Still enjoy playing many hacks, but I'm widening my perspective on life and opening myself to the new.

Honestly, Mega Man, while using a few amount of gimmicks, seems to derive the differences between levels with enemy types and varied physics. Once you add more enemies, I think it may seem more mega man-like. Also, I would try to use sprites where you can set the extra value so you can't jump on their heads. Stomping on enemies heads is VERY un-mega man.
A Megaman hack with Mario?

Sounds promising. Let's see how it turns out.

And the jumpin thingie... maybe it's true, but not so big deal.
