How about this one?

Quoting myself here, basing on this post:

I don't think the intense green surface goes much well with the intense red dirt and BG. I think both the dirt and BG could use a bit of desaturation, as the intense red is too loud for ground or mountains graphics. (...) If you really want to stick with green and red, I suggest "mixing" them a bit: make your green more "redish" and your red more "greenish". Like this.

The whole look of the tileset looks really nice and the shading seems to be really good too. Nice job with it!

Hopefully I'll submit this things to SMWCP 1.5.

Pretty sweet! I'm digging the style you have going on for it.

On (my) the topic of hand made graphics, here's a background I did. It's a mix of the NSMBWii canyon background I drew up and a mix of SMB3 clouds and SMW stars. Also, some lave flowing from the mountain.

Sample use

How's it look?
Lose the black outline around the lava, fluids, especially glowing ones, shouldn't have outlines like that, especially in a background.

I mean just look at those lava bubbles.

Other than that, nice.
Your layout has been removed.
Looking at the palettes used here, removing the black outline around that lava would make the lava blend in with the red background, thus making it worse. Anyway, the level looks good so far. Would love to see a video of it in action.

Working on an office for Dr. Mario.

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

The red BG can be easily changed without any meaningful loss.

now, for something a bit different from me:

My Inspiring Quotes on Personal Growth and Change:

"Resolved financial/personal problems equal greater growth!"

"The only constant thing in life is change; nothing is set in stone. The old is replaced with the new. Forgive yourself for past mistakes. When many different problems in your life are resolved (personal, financial, etc.), newfound strength and confidence is gained in the process. Usually, failures, lack of assertiveness, disappointments, incompetence, low self-esteem and lack of self-respect, financial struggles, and setbacks can cause us to change and take action to solve any problem, leading to increased strength and confidence. This you learn from experience.

I have been experiencing this aforementioned newfound strength and confidence myself for the past FOUR to EIGHT years or so, getting stronger with each passing year, learning with each mistake I make and becoming more joyful in the process. Because of this newfound confidence I've acquired over the years, finding my passion is of utmost importance in 2022! You can develop this strength and confidence in yourself as well!"

To whoever's reading this, you are amazing and you are capable of doing equally amazing things. Gather confidence and be yourself! Say goodbye to the old you and welcome the new you! It wants to arise every moment, but you don't let it. Learn from your mistakes and never make that mistake again! Find your passion and live it!"

Finding my passion in life, but I may still be active on SMWCentral from time to time. Still enjoy playing many hacks, but I'm widening my perspective on life and opening myself to the new.
BBLink: hey, I've heard of you. Welcome back!
I believe I've played that hack long ago, never got too far, but what I played felt pretty interesting. Those are some nice graphics for a doctor's office. I like how the style is simplistic and yet it looks pretty decently drawn and consistent.

M&L: pretty fancy stuff! The map looks pretty cool, and so do your palettes. I like the Mario's head transition, even if it's been being used a lot more often lately. I see that you're using HDMA in the "Nintendo presents" screen - I think you should experiment using gradients in your levels too.
Really hope to see more of this!
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
M&L: That looks a lot better than a lot of the stuff I've seen from you so far. The levels look great and I like how you're starting to use patches and whatnot. Are you using any custom music? One more thing; the overworld is sorta blocky in a way. It looks nice but something about it just bugs me. Anyways, I can't wait to see more!

yes, i've inserted the super mario all-stars music patch. and i understand your overworld comment; i'll work on it and make it less blocky.

That sunset palette. I like it.

I think it's decent. If there was a sun in there somewhere, it would truly scream "sunset" for me.

Remember the time I showed off the X-switch Void in the P-switch demo? It in development now. This is the second room, and the concept is to run away from the saws that is going the same speed as your running. Oh is it easily avoided by going to the other side? Let's just say you need these saws the whole way through, or something terrible will happen...

(Ignore the status bar, I had to port roms for AMK)

Eh, I just feel removing the black outline just looks weird period, it doesn't seem fitting IMO; I did it anyways though

Other than it would destroy the entire atmosphere and theme of the level.
This indeed doesn't look fitting. I'm not sure if this would work, but instead of having a black outline, maybe a red darker than the lava would work? Worth a shot maybe.
Yeah nobody said you can't have an outline at all.

I agree. Removing the outline wouldn't fit your style of art.
The black line looked worse.
A bright yellow outline perhaps?

It looks much better with the red outline. As for improving it further maybe you could try a dark orange outline and add in some shading like this:

Dr Mario's House

Dr Mario's Lab

Big props to whoever made these tables, flowers, and sink GFXs.
