You're free to use my #2 overworld and submaps if you wish. As for inserting, either you highlight the overworld in the OW rom and paste it manually in TCCR; or you open the rom with the OW first, then open up TCCR's rom, and save the OW from the other rom you opened onto TCCR. Be warned that if you do the latter, all the text boxes and the names will be gone, although it IS the easiest way to do it.

If you guys need help doing so, I can make a video on how to do it, or send me the latest version of the game through Skype (DaizoDeeVon would be my name there).

Your help is as always appreaciated, and your bullet bill idea might be also good. But I thought of something: Do we have a cape flying section yet? If no, that might be a solution. Of course I have to test it and than ask you for graphics ;)

It is at the end of the level on a vine you can climb with bullet bills: You can camp on the vine and farm the bullet bills which are shot from the right side of the wall. My suggestion: Remove that cannon, put one flying horizontal koopa there or something.

I guess you aren't like Ladida and allow little tweaks?(To fit with the level themes some palettes might need color changes for example)

I can get it to work for the hack, as I don't mind tweaking it a bit for the collaboration. There might also be a lot levels in the OW then in the game (as you guys seem to have a lot of worlds that are only 3~5 levels), so there's that to tweak as well. Looking at the worlds, it seems like the first three are in the right order, but the main world would have to be redone in order for it to look like the themes your looking for (as it says the Deserted Retreat is also island themed). Bascially the entire main overworld is one giant mountain, which is going to be a problem.

Also no duh I have to redo the Best, Worst, and aesthetic world to make them a little more "chocolate" and/or "mixed" themed. Blue pipes will also have to be removed, as you don't want the player to warp to every world now do you? #tb{:p}

Oh awesome I’d love to use it for our collab. It looks pretty ideal as well, the way I see it:

World 1 = Tall Meadows

World 2 = Deserted Retreat (could add water for the island levels)

World 3 = Crushed Heights

World 4 = Aqua Spirits

World 7 = Colossal Tower (might rename this world to be more fitting with how it looks)

Best World = Restricted Isle or Flooded Dimensions (not sure)

Worst World = Flooded Dimensions or Restricted Isle (not sure again)

Abstract = Cookies and Cream (maybe?)

Final Level could be parked at the top of the mountain (world 5).

The only one that doesn’t really have a match is Cheddar Park the all classic world but we could always use World 6 since it’s not exactly unfitting. Of course I should see what everyone else thinks.

Each world is planned to have 6 levels total, but some could end up having less I'm not sure yet.

Thanks for offering us your overworld, this will be a big help since I know little about overworlds and was dreading the thought of making my own. I'll do a little more thinking on which world can be what.

I’m pretty sure the cape hasn’t appeared yet in the hack, so that could be a good idea.

The idea is it's a SMB3 style level at night. I feel the BG is a little too plain and I might make some changes.
A tweaked overworld which already exists will never be as fitting and authentical than a new one, which is quite obvious, so I don't really understand why you consider to use this for a collab hack. Seems more like you are in a rush or something. (Sorry if I'm missing anything, I didn't read all the posts)

Also, @Aquamentus:
Looks nice :) The brown boxes don't look close as good as the other ones palette-wise though. They look a bit forced like you really wanted to use that ground palette for something else but it doesn't really work. IMO these boxes should be more colourful than that brown one, even if the colours are dark.
Also, I don't know if you will use that for the level or if it's really just to show the graphics and palette, but this:

is always confusing me so much when I see it in hacks. It doesn't work with my common sense. When looking at it, the only possibility would be that the ledge goes on behind that box, since otherwise it would make no sense that it is just cutted of at the edge of the box. But then, the player will fall through it anyways :b

Good hack, keep it going! I've been already waiting long for this, and I'll be playing it for sure when it's out!

I think some Map16 and priority setting changes would help, but there's an even better solution; you can use some ExGFX to make a blending effect. If you don't get what I mean, I'm suggesting something like this;

Yes I suppose that’s true, I do feel that the overworld is still pretty fitting overall though.

Yeah guess I am sort of, since it’s been so long since we started this hack I really would like to get it completed. Also I’m not all that great at overworlds myself.

Nevertheless if you guys don’t like the idea that overworld being used for TCCR I can always attempt to create my own instead. I’d like to hear more opinions.

That’s my fault I created the tileset he’s using and the box and wood ground both use the same palette. I was trying to be efficient with the palettes but it didn’t quite work out like I expected which is why I never ended up using the tileset myself.

Oh that’s not solid ground it’s part of the background though I realize how Aquamentus has tweaked the original BG makes it less obvious. Here’s the BG I had for it:



That land in the new night BG probably should be deleted since it does look a bit confusing as it is now.

We’ve got 15 more levels that need to be completed.
Here is a image giving all the details on the remaining levels. We also need to decide how the overworld will look, and add in custom music.

Hopefully we'll finish soon.
I need two ExGFX slots. I have a simple Idea for the Gradius level(I hope a graphics artist can help me. I will give instructions ;) )

Also, kinda funny that we have a level that has pumpkin enemies but Pumpkin Plateau doesn't have pumpkins. Oh well. :P

I didn’t really like how my level was turning out so I'm going to go ahead and drop: [Creative Level 1].

Instead I’d like to try to create the Gradius/Silver Surfer level Shog was going to make. I got some ideas for a level in that style.
I would like to claim a classic level if any!
