Crash

Note: I could've sworn I posted this already. But I can't seem to find it. Trash this if this is a duplicate thread.

Anyway, this is a question out of curiosity and blind hope that it will somehow spark discussion, but if one were to try and make a Lunar Magic level that instantly crashes (Not that I know why anyone would want to do that in the first place) what would be the best and easiest way?

What piqued your interest to ask?


As far as an answer goes I would suggest putting as many sprites as you can into the first screen or making a patch that does this (bad hex edits or something)

Boredom. Also, I read something about a level like that in the removal logs, so I was CONSIDERING doing something similar and passing it off as a test of some sort as a joke. Of course, I'm not going to spam this site.

I just tried it. I put literally over 1000 "May glitch" sprites on the first screen. The level was STILL playable. I have no idea how that happened. The only thing it did was remove ALL sprites, and caused the background to have a really trippy autoscroll effect.

If you want to crash a game fast, put lava in the first screen, fireballs that come out of the lava and don't put sprite bouyancy. Simple as that.


Still don't know why you'll want to crah a game. What fun is that?

Since you like that M A R I O hack so much, have you attempted to open the level that crashes the game?
That is irrelevant. As a matter of fact, it's off-topic two ways simulataneously. I never asked how to open a crashing level. I asked about making one. And I never mentioned M A R I O. I didn't like it that much anyway. That was all I mentioned when I first joined because that was the main reason I joined to begin with.

But back on-topic, do you have any opinions on the question I asked?

In addition to the previously stated things, you can uncheck the "correct fatal errors" option in Lunar Magic and insert sprite FF at x=0,y=0.
