Awesome/Possum (level one RELEASED!)

Awesome/Possum is based on a similar gimmick to C|C, each gimmick of the Special World is redone slightly and mutated into a pretty dang brutal kaizo. Each of the names rhyme with the original name, but are completely random words. For example, the first level is named "Charlie" rather than "Gnarly". The levels will contain custom music, I just haven't gotten around to it. Enjoy!

This is really something, MercuryPenny! I like how you made really difficult obstacles with such easy sprites; something that I cannot do.

Keep this up, as I'll be checking for updates. Optional, but some custom music would be nice to make this level look even greater.

Sometimes it's recomment to read the post a second time or more.

Updates will be little bits of progress of the same level if I even remember to and I'm not sure how long this level will take to make. I'm estimating at least a week, as you have to go up 27 screens in order to beat half of the level. Of course, I'm not that good at estimation so it could take only 4 days, who knows.

I'm actually making good progress, I've made 4 more screens since the first post. I may post another preview tonight.

Aaand here we go. Holy crap that took forever to record. I deleted my old post just to say this. I still don't have any custom music because I don't know what to use. Also, look at the description.
Looks good. Can't wait to see more
I like this! It's got a lot of charm to it and seems difficult while being fun.
I would show progress I've made for this level but there really isn't much to look at. #w{:s} I'll show off the level when I'm halfway done with it.
I was wrong! Turns out I'm not even half way done right now. This video only shows how much progress I've made since the previous vid.

EDIT: Due to AMK being a glitchy beta and me being lazy, this hack will not have custom music because AMK refuses to work on this ROM.
interesting it seems that there is too much spinjumping in these levels
may i suggest adding a puzzle possibly involving shells

also while its important to test everything properly try not to test the same exact part repeatedly because that just wastes time
will test any hard hack you guys have
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Halfway done guys! Some changes will be made by the final release, like the break shown at 3:00 will be the intended way.
Eh...

There haven't been any updates for sometime because of three things:

1) Lack of inspiration or motivation
2) Sprite limit reached
3) ROM got corrupted

Not entirely sure if I will continue this hack.
Continue! I want to play this. @MercuryPenny

Well, now that I'm done with Charlie I'm releasing the first level in IPS format.

Have fun!

Also, if anyone has a replacement for the name Tubular 3 go ahead and post!
Well, I'm having the names sound like the original names, but are completely random (Charlie, Say Pool etc.).

The beginning of Tubular 3. This is horrifyingly difficult.

If those are coin blocks on the bottom row, they might be better as invisible note blocks with the P-Switch still active.

Both of those are pretty good ideas. Thanks.

Woulda done it with snes9x-rr but Fraps doesn't detect that.
Can't you just go under everything...and avoid most of the baseballs from the chucks?
DEAR SUPER MARIO WORLD HACKERS: To protect our independence, we'll never run ads. We take no smc form SMW hacks. We survive on SMW hacks averaging about 20-200 levels per week in SMW hacks. Now is the time we ask. If everyone reading this right now gave a SMW Hack, our fundraiser would be done within an hour. If the CLM Organization is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online and ad-free another year. Please help us forget depression and get back to the CLM Organization and playing SMW Hacks. Thank you.
