#dev - For all your programming needs

#dev
We didn't see any point in having a channel for web development and none for general programming, so we made #html a bit more generic and moved it to #dev.

Currently, we've got experts on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL and C++ in here (at least part of the day), so we should be able to help with everything you want.
<blm> zsnes users are the flatearthers of emulation
Oh, this seems good. I'll be hanging out in the channel and I can offer help with C# and VB.Net problems anyone might have.

Probably gonna stay in there most of the time and offer html and css help. Can also do some general linux or mac testing if you're developing some software.

Don't be afraid to highlight me, I don't really get bothered by highlights.
Interesting idea. I'll regularly join this channel too, then.

I can offer help in C# and (advanced) SQL. I'm not an expert in C#, but I think I'm still decent (see HDMA gradient ripper). I consider myself an expert in SQL (Microsoft's SQL server atleast, what with T-SQL and transactions and all).
My blog. I could post stuff now and then

My Assembly for the SNES tutorial (it's actually finished now!)
I can help with C#, VB.NET, PHP (& MySQL), C / C++, Java, HTML (& CSS, Javascript), 8086 Assembly.

I can (in some cases) help with FSM-style algorithms, multithreading, heuristics, complex object-oriented structuring, various data structures, fast bitmap rendering (C#), File IO (.NET), and other applications.

If you wish to learn or ask about PHP (anything MySQL related works as well) (whether it is related to small scripts or bigger ones like forum software, or even game related things like RPGs) then feel free to message me and whatnot. I have some other scripting languages known but not enough to really help anyone sadly. More than likely I will be the one asking in these cases. :P
(very little java, jquery, flash)(some css, javascript)(a good chunk of html and C++)

I've also had some ideas that may boost activity and it went something like this:

* Scrydan starts thinking of an idea that may be interesting.
<Scrydan> I'll probably go over it a bit later as I am about to leave but an idea recently occurred to me of certain "hours" where certain users could show off some code and perhaps try to teach some people certain things. You could call them "PHP Happy Hour" or whatever the language the users pick at the time. The name isn't official but it could spark some activity...but that's just me.
<Alcaro> anything that makes this channel less loldead is a good idea
<Alcaro> ...but it was like this on #html too, so whatever.
<Scrydan> I'm working on an RPG system so I might go over some code or ideas to offer some people who might be interested in doing some things with PHP and other languages that will make this browser based game fun.
<Scrydan> I actually planned to have some kind of recorded series so who knows?
<Scrydan> It is sort of like a tutorial and an LP in one.
<Alcaro> weird enough to work I guess

I say that perhaps we could also work on something together. What that may be could be something on a large scale but I have a few ideas if we want to get into it. My plan would be that new people come in and also learn through experiencing some of it. As I myself learn this way and think it is a good way to learn. It is fun seeing what does what and why.

If any of you think a group project could be fun, I am actually working on a fairly big one right now and could probably use some other people to work with. My RPG project uses PHP and MySQL so knowledge of those would be best but I am willing to aid those willing to learn. And javascript and possibly others will be used.

It seems good.
I can ask experts for help while I have some problems and questions in programming. Great! #smw{:TUP:}
Cool. I'll hang out there sometimes. I could probably help you with VB.NET, Petit Computer (Awesome DSiWare if you have it), some C#.NET, minimal C++.NET, HTML, and CSS.
