First off, I have nothing worthwhile to contribute to the project. I would just like to congratulate you guys on work well done.
After playing the newest base rom (4-17-14.zip? From the future...?), compared to the first smwc production, this hack is a thousand times more fun and has a lot less focus on gimmicks that can VERY frustrating. It is more challenging than the original mario world but is seemingly avoiding that gap where most hacks go from enjoyably difficult to unplayable without save states. I feel like I could play this on actual hardware and not get mad enough to give up which is a LOT higher praise than most rom hacks in general would get from me. The graphics and hacking work are leagues better than your first production as well.
This is shaping up to be one of the better Mario Hacks out there, fun-wise and also technically. It's just very well done and has a type of polish very few hacks have ever achieved. Just thought I would share my somewhat outside opinion. Everyone who contributed deserves it.
Once all the boss fights get ironed out (still fun, just kinda glitchy right now) this hack will be quite the centerpiece for what this community is capable of. Keep it up and great job not letting time and the general downfalls of online collab work get you down. You are all doing a wonderful job. The only PROBLEM problem I have run into are midway points not working correctly in the first castle. I can't WAIT for the full release.
Quick Question: How did you make the yoshi coins 4 16x16 tiles instead of 2? That would be a helpful patch. If its on this site already, please correct me and point me in the right direction but I've never seen it. The dotted line indicator for the smw coins is also amazing but i assume that was made specifically for this hack.
So thank you all. You're the best. I look more forward to games from this site than actual nintendo products anymore.
