I listened to the SMB3 - Underwater one, and I think it's pitched a little high. Also around halfway through a note should be held a little longer. Still good though.
Thanks for the feedback. I can fix the pitch easily. As for the note problem, can you tell me the exact time that you hear the odd note? What part of the SPC?

This song was heard in The Essence Star, a hack by Golden Yoshi. I have no idea what game it's from, who made it, etc, but I really liked it, so I decided to port it by ear, and I think it came out pretty damn well.

Are you sure you posted the right SPC? That's a finished port, not a 28-second WIP, and the huge jump in quality from your last port to this one is a bit suspicious. Also the fact that you made the SPC only 15 seconds long (before the fadeout) even though the actual song goes on for over two minutes before the loop.

It sounds not too awful. It's just that I think it's more because of the original composition than the arrangement you made. Channel #5-7 are totally fucked up.
Using @8 for a bassline that goes up to high octaves like those is not a very bright idea. The pitch will overflow, so you'll end up with garbage notes.
There's also no percussion at all for some reason. You should completely redo the last channels to actually represent something. At least make it a percussive instrument instead of what you have now.
Not to mention you really need to get some consistency with your instruments. This just sounds like you threw something together. The choices themselves are very poor too.

Yikes! Why does every channel use that weird "plink" instrument? It really needs the instruments changed so that it doesn't sound so harsh.
"plink"? That's instrument @9, or in other words, SMW's piano. What would you suggest I change the channels to? (If you want to know any of SMW's instruments, here's a helpful chart for that)
You could probably change some at the end to @14. Not sure about the rest.

On second thought I have no idea what they sound like.

Yay, my first real Addmusic K song! (which I will not release - just wait for LadiesMan_217 to release his version) I will admit I got help from some tutorials so I could get help with the samples and BRR stuff and whatnot. I think it came out pretty nice, though!

Still exactly the same SPC, only with english letters instead of japanese glitched symbols and a shorter fade in the end.
